B2B and the Passenger Vessel Services Act

We are interested in back to back cruises; Vancouver-to-Anchorage, then Anchorage-to-Vancouver. I know the PVSA comes into play when starting and ending in two US ports. It seems like since these start and end with two Canadian ports (with US ports inbetween) that we would be ok.

Any advice?

The PVSA only comes into play when you start in one US port and end at a different one. Essentially you'll be doing a RT from Vancouver, so no issues.

Where you need to be careful is with B2B on the repositioning cruises at the beginning and end of the season.

How about this...R/T Boston/ Boston and then Boston to Miami? 21 days starting in Boston and ending in Miami.

That is allowed because the itinerary visits a DISTANT foreign port, one of the ABC islands.

this fulfills the requirements of the PVSA for a trip which begins in one US port and ends in another US port.

I thought it was OK, but thanks for the clarification.
