cruisebeachgirl703 Posted May 11, 2023 #1 Share Posted May 11, 2023 Does anyone have recent experience receiving the casino/cruisenext certificates? Does the casino open in the a.m. before docking in port canaveral at 12 noon? Has the number of casino hosts onboard been reduced?
FlGoodShips Posted May 11, 2023 #2 Share Posted May 11, 2023 You have to redeem any points or get casnext certs the night before you disembark. Just go to players club.
Rare www3traveler Posted May 11, 2023 #3 Share Posted May 11, 2023 Based on what I have read from other postings, Yes the number of onboard Casino Hosts have been reduced. I would rather doubt that the casino will be open the morning of disembarkation. I assume they would close about midnight. There is a ton of accounting the Casino needs to do in prepartions of a new cruise.
Sand and Seas Posted May 11, 2023 #4 Share Posted May 11, 2023 You do need to talk to the Hosts on the last night of your cruise in order to utilize any comps you have earned. If you want to be issued CasinoNext certificates, do not 'play' your earned tier points. 5000 tier for $250 CasinoNext 10,000 tier for $500 Casino Next They print you out a page for each certificate that is signed by a Host and includes your issue date & latitudes number. It does appear to take a few days after you return for CAS to 'see' your CASNEXT on your account. (I couldn't see mine on MyNCL, but CAS could a few days after cruise) The Joy in April had an Exec, Senior, and two other hosts. Four hosts, someone always available when casino was open. Very friendly & helpful CAS desk😎 1

Assuming I have a net amount due on my folio, I usually opt for them to apply a credit to my account, where the amount of credit is roughly pro-rated to the amounts stated above. If you don't have that much owed on your bill, then the CasinoNext is a nice option. (Gotta do it, though, on the last night).

Port Canaveral is one of the ports on the itinerary, I was being hopeful they might be open in the a.m. before arriving at the port.

I have never heard of a Casino being in any port-- the ONE exception would be Bermuda and then only in the evening.

The casino is open while at anchor at GSC. Tables will open late as people start coming back from the beach. Perhaps it varies by ship but I was just on Escape a few weeks ago and the casino opened about 30 minutes after we departed. Completely closed during the day. Also of note is while docked in St. Thomas the casino was open two hours BEFORE our departure.

garycarla Posted May 24, 2023 #14 Share Posted May 24, 2023 I have NEVER seen a casino open the day a ship pulls into a U.S. port. In most cases, they are inside the 12 mile intl waters hours before the ship officially ties up. Maybe even the middle of the night.
dbdb Posted May 25, 2023 #15 Share Posted May 25, 2023 Does anyone know if you leave money on your key card by not printing a cash out ticket at a slot, will it be credited to the cabin at the end of the cruise or is that money lost?

I just got off Dawn and I did leave some change and it was shown as credit on my final bill. I received my players card for this cruise in cabin but my husband was Jade and just got a letter telling him to use his cabin key. We both got CAS drink cards in cabin.
