Maybe I should up my game and throw in another $10 per week.🤪

The only reason we gamble at all is to use the $ free play Carnival gives us. Not very lucky at gambling plus I have short arms and deep pockets.🙂

Seriously....add a couple of zeros to that and you might even end up with $1,000.00 (plus 25.00) free play, free drinks ANYWHERE ANYTIME on the ship for you and your companion, 250.00 on board credit all for under $500.00 CANADIAN...yes CANADIAN...SO take off 38% to put it in american....Oh...and usually a steakhouse dinner...I know....it's not free....we gamble...but I honestly can't remember paying more than the taxes and gratuities ...cabin is free

And now the Carnival app will show you your accumulated points for both table games and slots.  So my wife (who plays slots) and I (who plays table games)  will track our points from cruise to cruise to correlate our play with future casino offers.  If there is a correlation, which I believe there is.

I contacted Players Club a few weeks ago when I was talking to my friend who barely gambles and found out her offers ($1000 OBC, free drinks everywhere, and free balcony rooms) were 100x better than my $100 OBC, free drinks in the casino, $100 pp interior rooms.  I spend hours in the casino and thousands of dollars while she isn't that interested and only joins me for maybe an hour each day and plays $300 per cruise tops.

Maybe it is time I start looking at other cruise lines.... It sounds like their programs are more straight forward and the offers may be better. (I am going to play in the casino either way, but seeing that some people get amazing offers while others get next to nothing with no rhyme or reason - or explanation - hasn't been sitting well with me.)

Here was the response:

Thank you for reaching out to Global Casino Services Team.
Casino offers are sent solely at our discretion, based on criteria we do not disclose.
Please remember, we do not ask our guests to play to a specific level in order to get a specific offer.
You can always keep track of any promotions you are eligible for by visiting www.carnival.com/offers and inputting your VIFP number.
While l am not able to discuss anyone else’s play or offers, I can confirm that I have personally reviewed your past play and I can confirm that the offers you currently have available under your past guest profile are indeed the best possible offers we can extend you at this time.

I know this is not the answer you were hoping for, but l trust you understand, should you be eligible for better a casino offer in the next campaign we will gladly make it available to you.
I can assure you that we are looking at how we can get more people better offers every time we send out our casino promotions.

We appreciate your loyalty and look forward to welcoming you onboard in the future!

I still don't understand how the casino offers work. My wife doesn't even play during our cruise and she gets amazing offers including free balcony rooms, drinks, and OBC. I play for hours and don't get diddly squat. When we book our cruises, we have to book under her offers. Weird...

Carnival doesn't publish a formula or threshold for anything except Drinks On Us, and even then only for slots. I don't think they publish thresholds for any other offers. I am sure there is an algorithm but it's anybody's guess what it actually is.

I don't think there's any way to figure it out. I've seen people on here post that they haven't cruised with Carnival in years and they're getting the free room offers.

Yeah I dont get it when I see post from people that have cruised Carnival 7 to 8 times and won’t try a different cruise line because they want to make Platinum.

i think ive cruised 7-8 times over last 13 years unlike a lot who cruise 7-8 times per year lol.  I have looked at other cruise lines but given the time invested and the cost differences i am one of those and every single cruise counts to me lol so its difficult to go elsewhere until i hit Platinum.  Otherwise i will be 89 before i make it.  If i could cruise more than once a year it wouldnt be as hard to go elsewhere a few times.

Data points are not limited to but may include:  zip code, Carnival credit card holder (they know exactly how much available credit you have plus your credit rating), status at land casinos, business owner, property owner, status at hotel/airline/car rental places, memberships at places like Costco/Sam's, credit card used to pay cruise costs plus a 1000 more that, combined paint a picture of their ideal casino guest.

How do they know if we are Costco members I don’t think that is public info

This is correct here.

Casinos know more about you than you think.

Ask this question of those who do not get better offers....no offense, but how is your financial status? Credit rating? Have travel credit cards (Delta AMEX, Caesars VISA)? Financing a car?

I think a lot of that factors.

Same as of you start playing super big in Vegas and they want to lure your play, they'll look into your every financial thing.

Casino's job is to remove that cash from you.

Costco sells your information.  Costco uses area demographics like area median income, household make up, taxable housing bases, education level. etc to decide where to locate new stores.  That and which Costco membership level is catnip to casino marketers.

And less offers for those who guard personal information online by using incognito mode, email addresses not connected to Carnival, always opting out of sharing information.  Better offers come at the cost of your privacy.  FB, Google and even CC make money from selling ads and information.

I also forgot to add your age makes a difference. Retirement age or working age?

Young 20's working or mid-50's working?

It makes a difference in your targeted demographic.

Also, if you use a business credit card...usually a larger credit limit and the casino doesn't care if you are embezzling

Similar experience on Conquest last week. My buddy spends a lot of time, and I'm assuming money, in the casino. They gave him a nice Ocean Suite which we shared, we both had Cheers package and they sent us both to the steakhouse one night. As a non-gambler, I was more than happy to cover gas, parking and a pre-cruise hotel night for him letting me tag along.

Also here’s a little tidbit for those of you new to booking casino deals , let’s say u book a casino deal that gives u $500 or $1000 free play for one person. We get those all of the time you go to the cage to get your free play we checked one cruise just for fun to see if if the other one of us had any and yes we did . It says just one . Normally it says like drinks for all free play for one. But all of cruises free play will whole amount for one then half that amount for the next one . Sometimes it’s free play sometimes they hand us cash . Depends on the ship . Great system.

??  "But all of cruises free play will whole amount for one then half that amount for the next one" .??? What does that mean?

Only the older ships offer the "FreePlay" from your booked casino offer in cash, newer ships are always on your Sign and Sign.

No older ships may give u CASH in free play vs actual free play chips is what I mean . First person May get like $500 and second person may get like $250 . We were on the Valor in New Orleans they handed us cash at the cage vs let’s say the Mardi Gras which gave us free play chips which u use . Make sense.

Interesting theories, but my wife, who gets great casino offers, doesn't work, has no credit history, no financing history. The vast majority of her purchases, including her stupid purses, are via cash transfer. How does carnival track that?

I spend at least 3-5 hours a night in the casino during a cruise and she just comes in for the free drinks and doesn't spend a dime. But yet, she's the one that gets the great offers including free balcony rooms, drinks and OBC. While I get diddly squat...

Yes, older ships with outdated systems give cash for FreePlay.  New ships like MG give out FreePlay on your Sail and Sign.  This is well know,

Because her digital foot print is larger.  Spending in the casino means very little for future offers.

Sounds like you're making guesses again. My wife has no digital prints. Virtually everything is in my name.

Her name is connected to your name.  There are many data mining bases that list all household members, ages, addresses and even phone numbers.  Computers easily sift and link like https://www.spokeo.com/.
