Port of Miami rental car

Looking fora 3 day rental car post cruise from port of Miami. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

It is usually better to just get the car from Miami airport.

You need to take an Uber or Lyft to the 2nd street office of Avis/Budget. Taxi drivers will get mad about the short distance.

On turn around day, it's a mad house at that location. I'd rather just go to the airport.

There is a Sixt office in the Intercontinental hotel and Enterprise at the Doubletree Grand Biscayne Bay  

If you're staying there, this would be convenient.

You get charged A LOT more from the airport. They add Govt/Airport taxes and fees that the free-standing rental offices don't. Just a heads up.

I am renting a van from Budget pre-cruise, how far is the rental drop off compared to the cruise port?

Downtown location off of 2nd St?  About a 5-10 minute ride.

 

MIA airport rental car center?  About a 20+ minute ride.

Ok so I am confused.

 

I thought that I had read the car rental companies stopped the shuttles from Miami Airport to the Port after Covid.

Correct - you will need to take a cab or Uber from the port to pick up your rental.  If you drop off downtown the Avis/Budget location may offer a shuttle to the port.

They have a shuttle ore Uber is easy
