saminina Posted July 7, 2023 #51 Share Posted July 7, 2023 50 mile or so limit eliminates TUS area for a free (included) ride. I was given $45 credit for not using the service. Didn't argue about it as it was minor compared to the overall challenge with SS Air.

I don't know where you are from but e are well within the 50 mile limit of Tucson International where our flights are booked. I agree with Flyertalkers explanation why Blacklane has no presence at TIA. Elaine 😎
saminina Posted July 7, 2023 #53 Share Posted July 7, 2023 I was responding/agreeing to post 50. Doesn't read that way when it shows up on following page. Mentioned $45 because it seemed low compensation for not using the service.

I have always received 50.00 each way (credit) on my booking for that.......not sure why you are only receiving 45.00.
canderson Posted July 7, 2023 #55 Share Posted July 7, 2023 $45 (or $50) is ridiculously low. We're just within Blacklane service range here, and any decent car service is going to charge more on the order of $200 for private service. Even a shuttle bus costs more than that for 2 people. It has been my experience that if you booked onboard and got the 5% onboard discount, or got the 5% Venetian Society discount on your original booking, they only give you $45 back each way (to account for the fact that you didn't really pay the full $50 per trip). LAexNY Posted July 7, 2023 #58 Share Posted July 7, 2023 Blacklane is not available in Portland. We receive the $50 credit which is fine because Lyft or Uber to the airport is around $30. One time when we were disembarking in Miami and flew to NY with Silversea Air, we did use Blacklane and were pleased with them.

number one eagles fan Posted July 8, 2023 #60 Share Posted July 8, 2023 Jumping on this thread because I haven't had much response to my thread... Since many of you are seasoned SS cruisers I thought I might ask here. I am hoping to do a "deviation" at the end of my cruise (Lisbon). I am hoping to travel Europe for a couple of weeks and fly home from another major European airport, likely Milan or Rome. Will SS allow a deviation like that? Flying home 2 weeks later and from another airport? If I book the flights myself SS is only offering a $350 credit pp. The cruise is listed as D2D only and I think the "non used air credit" is rediculous. The flights that are included in the D2D are Atlanta to Barbados and then return to Atlanta from Lisbon...certainly worth more than $350. Thanks for your help. Flying from another city isn't a problem with a deviation. But I believe I've read that there is a time limit relative to your cruise. Staying an extra week isn't a problem, but multiple weeks might be. Hopefully someone here knows the specifics and will jump in. Or better still, maybe ask your TA to check with Silversea. Might as well get the answer straight from the authoritative source. 😉
Rare Port Power Posted August 18, 2023 #65 Share Posted August 18, 2023 I have just had an email from Singapore Airlines with a change of flight time from Haneda (Tokyo) to Singapore on October 9th after disembarking Silver Muse. The flight has been changed from 5:05pm to 9:10am. I don't even know if Silversea can get me to the airport in time! I have informed my TA who has emailed Silver Air. The original flight now departs at 8:20pm. However, luggage probably cannot be checked in until 3-4 hours before the flight, hence no lounge access. My onward flight from Singapore has not changed, which leaves me an 8 hour layover in the very nice lounge. Silver Air's response to the flight change will show how customer friendly they are. If they keep me on the later flight (which I think is likely), will they provide a hotel day room? Or a day tour for late flights? I will let you know. Rare Port Power Posted August 18, 2023 #66 Share Posted August 18, 2023 Well, Silver Air has surpassed my expectations! They replied within half an hour to my TA's email with suggested new flights. The flight change by SQ was definitely too early. The new flight from Narita is at 7pm, so I presume I will be booked on an "airport transfer with sightseeing" excursion. The original connecting flight no longer works, so Silver Air has put me on a later flight. No fault of theirs, but I will have an 8 hour layover. Fortunately the Singapore Airline lounges at Changi Airport are open 24 hours and have showers and quiet zones. I will survive.

That is exactly right. Don’t sit back and expect Silver Air to contact you. The airlines contact their passengers about changes, not the TA. So the passenger needs to let S/S know as soon as possible. 1

No. If booked through a TA, the passenger cannot change flights, only the agency that made the booking. There is a banner across the screen advising this whenever I log into manage my booking. I can choose seats, but not alter the itinerary. Also, as S/S are arranging transport from the ship, they can coordinate everything. Anyway, that’s their job. Rare FlyerTalker Posted August 18, 2023 #71 Share Posted August 18, 2023 I just call the airline directly. If they have made a schedule change, they can fix it over the phone. I am not trying to do things via a website.

If you make your cruise booking directly with Silversea, they are called your personal consultant. Any travel agent can book a cruise for you, although it is best to use one that is a cruise specialist dealing with premium lines such as a Virtuoso agent. I use such a TA in Bicton, Australia, or one in Orlando.
boccenana Posted August 18, 2023 Author #74 Share Posted August 18, 2023 I ran into a lot of problems with my TA last cruise. Nothing but stress. Whenever I asked for information I was told they are waiting to hear from SS agent. I figured....hell, I might as well book directly with SS agent. So glad I did. It has been smooth sailing 🤭ever since. He has been wonderful. Elaine 😎
