cruisefun77 Posted June 6, 2023 #1 Share Posted June 6, 2023 We're not able to book MTD for 10 people online. Anyone have experience with the best way to ensure a table of 10 each night? Should we wait until we board or book a table of 8 each night and hope they will accommodate 10? Other suggestions?

twinmommy08 Posted June 7, 2023 #3 Share Posted June 7, 2023 (edited) You should go to the main dining room when you first board to set up dining arrangements. You will likely need to schedule a set time all week and secure a specific table. They can hardly accommodate a walk up for a family of 4 with MTD, let alone 10! One thought we have is that seating 10 people at one table makes it awfully hard for the guests to hear each other given how big the table will be.

NeepierRoad Posted June 7, 2023 #6 Share Posted June 7, 2023 We traveled with a group of 13. We had two tables but made sure to visit the MDR upon boarding to confirm the tables/set up. Also, we told our waiters when some, none, or all of us would be there. Tables for 10 are at a minimum so make sure you have your arrangements in place! Rare crewsweeper Posted June 7, 2023 #7 Share Posted June 7, 2023 I believe you can link your parties cabins for dining. Your Travel Agent might be able to assist there, or call Royal. Btu yes definitively go to MDR on boarding and double check or make sure things are in order.

We have sailed on this class of ship numerous times when they had tables in both the traditional and MTD areas set for 10 or more, but there aren't all that many "pre-set" that way. The trip to the host right when one boards is essential to either get one of the few that are pre set, or to give staff the heads up needed to set one up. Even with linked reservations, you are not assured of anything larger than a 6 or 6 top unless you make those arrangements with the host.
cruiseguy1016 Posted June 7, 2023 #9 Share Posted June 7, 2023 Here's some advice. We often travel with friends/family totalling 8-12 people. We used to try to get 1 big table but found it too difficult to hold conversations. We now book 2 tables and split our group in half and have found it is much more enjoyable to dine without so many people trying to talk at once. We rotate tables every night so we're always sitting with different members of our group.
