trixiee Posted June 20, 2023 #1 Share Posted June 20, 2023 Is there any way to discover what portion (if any!) of my OBC is refundable vs non-refundable? I only see one line item which says OBC and the amount on my statement. TIA
Rare kazu Posted June 20, 2023 #2 Share Posted June 20, 2023 Once you are on board - your OBC will show and that OBC designated as ‘not for use in the casino or cash’ is non refundable. There is also a total at the bottom of Navigator for refundable & non refundable. If you are looking at a HAL confirmation for an upcoming cruise and it’s HAL OBC it is usually non-refundable. The only exception I know is casino play and it shows in a different spot.
DaveOKC Posted June 20, 2023 #3 Share Posted June 20, 2023 It should show up on your online (TV) account once onboard. Do not know how to prior boarding.

Rare albingirl Posted June 21, 2023 #5 Share Posted June 21, 2023 All I really know about the non refundable obc, is that when we are getting to the end of the cruise, I spend it in the gift shops. Heck, it's mad money at that point, and it's a use it or lose it thing. At least that's what I tell my dearly beloved lol. 2
Rare Haljo1935 Posted June 21, 2023 #6 Share Posted June 21, 2023 I also don't know of a way to see the amounts broken out prior to getting onboard. It's very easy to see it once you access the TV statement as the very bottom will show a "non refundable" line if any portion is non refundable. If there's not a non refundable line, it's all refundable. Perhaps you could call before boarding to see if HAL can send you an invoice with the breakout. Please update us as this has me curious. Safe travels - enjoy your cruise!

Safe travels - enjoy your cruise! I honestly see no point in contacting HAL. If it’s on the first page of the confirmation, if it’s HAL OBC and is non refundable. Period. OBC from TA’s don’t show on the HAL confirmation. It’s in their emails to you and most times, that is refundable. I would think if it were not, the TA would advise? Rare ontheweb Posted June 21, 2023 #8 Share Posted June 21, 2023 On our upcoming cruise, I called our TA and asked that question. (Actually, left a message, and he called back.)

It’s been the case with me too when I’ve used a ta. I’m glad it wasn’t just me thinking that didn’t sound right.
