Original Booker Can't Make It

Ok before anyone get on here being mean, yes I will eventually call carnival. 
 

 

So my brother just confirmed that he will be unable to make it on our family cruise which is August 20th. The room is booked in his name. There's no onboard credit however his ocean view was about $900 after taxes where as everyone else's was about $1300 after taxes. 
 

My question is, if I tell Carnival that he's coming, would they let me board or make me wait for him? I heard once someone saying that they couldn't check in until all guest were there .

do not contact carnival. the best thing to do is leave the booking alone.

 

all guests do not need to be there for check-in at the terminal. you can still check in. if they ask, just saying they are coming later in the day. eventfully they will be marked as a no show in the system

They will not let unaccompanied minors check in but they will let adults check in.

 

If he has travel insurance and a covered reason for cancelling then call your travel insurance agent.

We have handled these as No Shows - the person simply does not show up. If you tell them he's not coming, cancel him or change the booking, they will refare it.

My pvp once told me, say nothing. If they ask where your cabin mate is say oh hes still coming, or running late and smile. Say nothing about him not making it. Board and smile.

I'm confused?  How many of the family members are booked in his cabin?  How many cabins total?

I had this happen back during the crazy low prices for the restart. My friend got a rate for $30 pp for an inside so we jumped n it and made a reservation for one of the forward insides with a window. Like a week later she realized she couldn’t go. I went anyway and hoped for the best. When I checked in I told them she was coming later. Everything was fine. I was even able to buy Cheers when I got on board before sail away not having to pay for her as she was not checked into the system.

Caveat..... there are some fares where the person who originally booked does have to show to qualify for the low rate. Mostly casino rates but there could be other offers also that have this requirement.

Oh no it's only two people with him being one of them
