Drinks at International Cafe

Hello everyone, now I understand they serve coffee at International Cafe. But my question is do they serve other drinks like soda, juices or mocktails? Any feedback on this manner would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Most Princess ships have a ‘bar’ right next to the IC, literally connected next to the serving counter of the IC. You would not order non coffee/tea drinks from IC, but you just need to take a few steps. This is true for most Grand Class ships, for Royal Class ships the Lobby Bar or similar is maybe 10 steps away, see deck plans for your particular ship.

Okay, so my understanding, there is a bar a few steps from IC and I could get soda, mocktails, etc... Would you know if there is any stations where you can get water? Or I assume you get that from bar? Thanks again for the insight.

IC will have bottled water as well as the bars.  There are 2 sizes of bottled water on Princess.  The 500ml size is included with packages ($2.25 with no package) and are available at all bars.  The 1.5 liter size is not included with packages and are $5 each and not all bars stock this size.

Yes, there is usually a ‘bar’ steps away from the International Cafe on most Princess ships. Please review the deck plan of the ship you are considering to verify. They will serve bottled water and complimentary ‘ship’ water by the glass. Island and Diamond Princess have no IC, on Coral, very small IC on deck 6 next to Casino and no bar close by.

Thanks for sharing that, it's good to know they have complimentary ship water by the glass. Thanks again for all the insight.

Royal Caribbean offer water, tea and (non speciality) coffee at their  Café Promenade- their equivalent of International Café. Included in the cruise fare.

I think is is a good option which Princess might like to consider offering. Not good for revenue building but helpful for customers on the Standard package.

(So I guess we know it won’t be coming anytime soon !!!!!!)

Seems to me that you can get tea and regular coffee at the international cafe....and water from the bar right beside it.

This true..BUT for those booking the standard fare on Princess there is an additional charge, where it is included in the fare on RC.

We had a drinks’ package so were not affected by this but those who book standard might want to be aware.

For those cruising with the standard fare, coffee, tea and water are available 24/7 in the buffet.  One just has to go to the Lido deck to get it.

Some ships do have the concentrated syrup coffee in the buffet which is pretty nasty.  When I don’t have the drink package, I just bring Starbucks Via and get hot water from the buffet.

Who wants to dash from the buffet on the Lido deck to have a quick snack in the International Café (deck 5) ??

Agree the coffee in the buffet is nothing to write home about.

Or stop by the Lido on your way down to the IC. We tend to stay on the upper decks.

Nice thing about cruising—to each their own!

Just to clarify, if I am at the International cafe and eating a snack, do they have complimentary water that they offer to drink?

My interpretation of the above is that the cafe does not have complementary water, but the bar very close to the cafe will have complementary water by the glass (both cafe and bar will have water by the bottle, 500ml, but that needs a package or else charged, and one of the two venues has larger bottles, and you pay extra for that regardless of package)

Also do you know if the bar near buy serves soda? I have the soda zero alcohol package. I wasn't sure if the bar near by serves alcohol only or if they served soda as well.

Yes, the bar will/should have can and fountain soda.

In my experience (two cruises total, neither Princess) I would be very confident that the bar would serve soda.

They do.

Aren't they including cans of soda with the packages lately or do you have to specifically ask for a can?

It reads that way in their advertisement.
