This makes sense to me. A lot of people chose not to take advantage of an obvious glitch therefore not being rewarded for bad behavior🤣😂

Some people have reported it works, some say it doesn’t. I did the math and between this 10%, AARP 10%, and the OBC I have I might purchase it for our 12 day. 6 sea days so might just be worth it.  I have to discuss with my sailhubby, like I don’t know what he will say. 🤣🤣🤣

Has your Cheers purchase already been canceled?  They may not have canceled yours yet.  If they did, it may take a day or so for their site to catch up.

Seems like your glitchy Cheers hasn't been canceled. That's what several of us got when we were still glitchy.

You will have to buy your packages all at once. You can use it for cruises where you didn't buy cheers during the glitch. But you gotta use it once logged in under yourself. It's tied to your profile, not your booking #.

Slightly confused - I have 2 cruises that I want to buy Cheers. Glitchy Cheers has been canceled from both and I want to replace it with "real" Cheers on both. I received 1 code.

I've only purchased inside a booking - are you saying I log in to Carnival but not into either of the bookings and buy Cheers like I'm doing a gift for someone? I can add gifts for multiple bookings to my shopping cart then check out using the code?

Or are you saying follow process above if I have other bookings to buy it for but I'm SOL on those 2?

I have 4 bookings listed under my profile. One is for my girlfriend cause I do everything for her when we cruise. 

 

1 other booking is listed under my profile, but I did not get cheers for that one during the glitch. However if I add cheers to all of those bookings and use the promo code, it works for all of them.

 

My girlfriend did not get an email, Nor does the code work for her when she's logged in.

 

So you can use it for any booking listed under the profile used when you purchased during the glitch. But you can only use it once.

If it's a unique code, then only the person that it's attached to could use it.  If it's a general code, then why not post it so people that heard about the glitch after Carnival shut things down could use it to save a few bucks.

We paid for our Cheers on our B2B's on the Celebration next month and again in January before the price increase 18 months ago or whenever it was.

You are correct.  I booked this upcoming cruise under DH profile as he had the better deal.  I purchased the Glitchy Cheers logged in to Carnival under my profile.  I tried the code logged in to my profile and it wouldn't work.  I logged out and logged in to Carnival under DH profile and boom, it worked.  The price went from $990.38 to $891.36.  Savings of $99.02!

Yup. And I'm guessing people who are reporting to John and in groups that the code doesn't work are either not signing in under the profile it's attached to and/or trying to use it more than once.

Thank you, you both fixed my problem.  I forgot that I had booked the cruise under my husband's account to take advantage of one of his offers.  I logged into his account and now the promo code is working.

The next time any company makes an IT error then tries to do good by everyone (except for me) that has partaken in that error, I will make sure to ask for the same compensation along with everyone else that has done business with that same company.

 

An airline has a booking error and gives out $50 one way fares, even though I didn't partake in that because I was late to the party or didn't know about it until a social media explosion, I will demand that same fare since I was already booked or was going to book.

 

I go buy a car today and next week that dealership has a Labor Day sale, I will go back and demand a refund of the difference.

Like I mentioned in a previous post, we already prepaid for Cheers on our next four cruises before the price increase 18 months ago or whenever it was.

 

Would have been nice to get a 10% discount on the final 9 days of our 10 day cruise on the Venezia next year.  That 10% discount is nothing for Carnival, if they can afford to give the gamblers free drinks anywhere on their ships they can certainly afford to give a 10% discount to loyal non gambling cruisers. 

 

They'll probably make more money in the long run anyway since that discount will spur additional sales from cruisers that would never pay for Cheers.

Never said nor implied that they didn't.  It just irks me at times regarding the bragging on the various threads about the free drinks and free inside cabins that they get.  And then they try to get stockholder OBC on top of it.

Like we do? We get those deals all the time! Only one of us has to pay for Cheers. We pay a small "fee" for a balcony. And we gamble minimally. 

 

Sorry the Cheers glitch and casino offers arent working out for you.

We get free cabins all the time.  Usually OV or balcony.  I get DOU everywhere ( cheers) and hubbs gets free drinks while i the casino.  BUT, we will each budget $1000 for gambling on a 5 day cruise.  So we are just paying for a future cruise that way.  We enjoy gambling and enjoy doing so on the ship.

Great, it's your money, spend it as you wish and make those $2000.00 donations on a 5 day cruise.  Stockholders like myself thank you.
