After a yummy repast, we walked to the Uffuzi Gallery. Not quite the mob scene as David’s fan club. We checked out Modigliani, Botticelli and much more. Then we walked to the Ponte Vechio bridge for pics. Drinks at La Terrazza Rooftop Bar at the Continentale watching the sunset, topped off a great afternoon!

We walked back to our BnB and cleaned up for dinner. I had a late reservation at Osterio Vecchio Cancello for 9pm. We walked there (25 minutes later, in SpongeBob’s voice) and they took us early at 8:30.

I wanted to go there because they make a wonderful Bistecca alla Fioretina. A steak the size of your head😜

Started out with barata with tomato and arugula and truffles. Delish!

Then steak, more steak and too much steak! So good but I was getting meat sweats from two slices. Craig had three slices. We are wimps😔

Once we cried uncle, our waiter cleared our table and brought limoncello shots with a little carafe of more limoncello. Nice!!

Finally, they called us a taxi home (waddling is bad form😜) and gave us a bottle of red wine for home. How did they know I needed a bottle, I’m just happy they did that 👍😁

It was!! Very flavorful and I like my steak medium rare. If someone is more medium with their beef it could be too rare for them. I’m so glad I could try this specialty!

Woke up this morning to a delicious breakfast in the dining room! Croissant, sliced meats, cheese, yogurt, juice, cereal and grapes. We were greeted by Jenny, very charming manager and she got us cappuccino. Our train to Rome isn’t till 11:33 so I can relax a bit☺️

We had Jenny call us a taxi and good thing we did! There was a line at the taxi stand across the street from our B&B. Our taxi got us to the train station quickly and was totally worth the 20 euro. Now we are riding the train 90 minutes to Rome!

A little train food. Ham and cheese sandwich, not as melted as I like but tasty 😁

Made it to our Rome Home! It was a long 20 minute trek from the train station dragging bags (Craig offered a taxi but the line was long) and dodging traffic. At first it was confusing accessing the front gate but once we got to the sixth floor (via smallest elevator ever) the Italian mama of the two brothers who own the guest house greeted us. I felt like I was meeting my Grandma  from Italy! Our room is darling with a balcony (pics later) and two beds!

I love the train ride from just north of Firenze to Roma, Tuscan hillsides, abandoned castles and medieval towns, Italian Cypress...

Changed into shorts (rainy but warmish) and walked 15 minutes to the Colosseum. I had tickets through the official site so we basically walked in. History, architecture, tons of people.
