I have heard it is too early to enjoy the fall foliage in Japan, but October weather is supposed to be good 🤞 I can report back here on our weather experience when we return if you would like. That would be wonderful to hear about your experience. 😍
Rare NMTraveller Posted Friday at 03:03 AM #177 Share Posted Friday at 03:03 AM I took a peek at these cruise prices back in May. They were rather reasonable back then. I took a look now and the prices have skyrocketed. I suppose that I will wait for November and see if the pricing is back to a more normal level for the new cruises coming out. Would love to hear about your experiences in general. We are getting onboard next April (Easter Sunday) looking forward to having my Easter dinner cooked😉. Wishing you a great and safe trip.
Veinless Posted Sunday at 11:33 AM #179 Share Posted Sunday at 11:33 AM I’m debating getting wifi for the cruise. Have folks managed to get decent cellular connectivity to regular Japanese providers while onboard, or does the ship sail far enough from land to make that a risky proposition? Cell service on a ship in the middle of the ocean is quite expensive.

I wasn’t sure if Celebrity sailed that far from the islands or if terrestrial service worked fine like it does in the Inside Passage.

In 2022, Royal Caribbean Group announced a partnership with Elon Musk's SpaceX Internet for every cruise ship of Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, and Silversea. We traveled to the Panama Canal last year on Celebrity Edge and used the Premium Wi-Fi package which was pretty consistent. This year, Wi-Fi on Norwegian in South Africa was good, too. However, cell service is another story. AT&T at Sea has been so hit-and-miss, it is really unfathomable to pay for it. Something's gotta give on cell service. sanger727 Posted Monday at 06:59 PM #183 Share Posted Monday at 06:59 PM We went to Japan in May. The weather was nice. As a bonus, we hit the end of cherry blossom season so we got to see those.
