Huge Football fan here. Ive cruise on XL Ships and love how every game can be seen near the Pig and Anchor spot on the 7th deck. Ive never cruised during football season since 2015, until now. Ill be on the Magic from Dec 16th to Dec 30th. Does anyone know if the games will be shown and if so, where? On the second leg of the cruise, we will be at Grand Turk on Sunday. Im wondering if games be on on the ship while at port? If not, Ill get Premium WIFI and try to watch the games.

Thanks

I was on the Mardi Gras in December 2021 and my team was playing in the Independence Bowl on the day of embarkation.  They had another bowl game or 2 on the TV's around the ship but mine was not one of them and even with the premium Wi-Fi I was unable to pull it up on my phone with the ESPN app or Youtube TV.  So count on games being shown but no guarantee on watching a particular game.  Maybe you will get better results with the Wi-Fi than I did though.

I was just on the Pride and college ESPNish games were shown in the sports bar and on Sunday they had 4 different NFL games on. I was able to stream a game on the ESPN app but as previously posted, YouTubeTV won't work. Honestly, it's a crap shoot really. Good luck to you!

Carnival will show all the games they have a license to show - easy answer is if the game is on ESPN, you should be able to just ask the bartender to show it. Games on other channels are less likely that Carnival will buy the license to show it unless it's major like the Super Bowl. They don't show any NASCAR events for example as they are never on ESPN and they don't buy the license for it, not even the big races like the Daytona 500.

You can get wifi in Grand Turk in a few places if the game will be on while you are in port. Wifi on the ship is subject to a lot of variables so I wouldn't count on being able to stream the game. Basically don't buy wifi just for that because you might be disappointed.

Just off the Celebration yesterday. The Pig and Anchor showed several NFL games, but did not have the SEC championship game on Saturday. Several people asked the bartenders there as well as at the Red Frog Tiki bar and their response was that they do not have control over the tv.

On Magic the Red Frog Pub and the Casino Bar will likely have games on. No guarantee which games though. I've sat there at the casino bar on Magic and had bartenders tell Eagles fans they couldn't get their game...even though I saw the Eagles game on in the Red Frog Pub. If there's a specific game you need to see, I'd recommend having the WiFi as a backup.
