Questions regarding b2b

We've never done a b2b qnd are considering it for June. We already have a 9 night booked on Liberty. For the first time ever, I got a cruise through the casino which offers as an option a 5 night on Liberty just before our booked cruise.  Having no experience with some of this, I actually have more confidence in the input from experienced members of this forum than in the phone bank reps (especially since this involes a few factors).

So the questions;

If we pay to bring our dd on the free 5 night (assuming capacity allows for it)....I'm wondering how getting her off the ship will work. I know "continuous cruisers" have a specific process, but I've seen minors on board asked to step aside when their parents weren't around to walk them off.   Might we be able to leave with her (one of us anyway) to meet someone picking her up, yet leave our stuff on the ship?

Since the 9 night is an oceanview, I know we'll need to change cabins.   Will they let us put our stuff somewhere while we do what we need to do in between?

What exactly is the peocess for b2b cruisers?   I'm assuming you need to get off then back on even if just for scanning off then on.....(the term I'm thinking of is escaping me).

I'm sure I'll have more questions but that's it for now.  Tia

We've done several B2B's but have not had your situation with your minor DD; in that instance, unless someone else can help, I would go to GS on board with that question.

Changing cabins is a breeze! You'll just need to put new luggage tags on your luggage. Pack all of your small/drawer stuff in your luggage but leave all of the hanging clothes in your closet. Leave everything in your cabin and your room steward (give him advance notice of your moving rooms) will have everything moved for you. Be sure to keep your IDs, passports and sea passes in hand for the transition.

The B2Bers will meet in a designated area to be the last cruisers off of the ship (for the manifest). Your group will be guided off of the ship, given new sea passes, and allowed to be the first passengers to walk back on board. It's great to be part of the first cruisers to get back on the ship! You most likely will be invited to a very nice lunch just for the B2Bers in the MDR.

Hope this helps! Good luck! Enjoy! Cheers!

Thank you so much. MANIFEST was the word I couldn't remember lol.  I really would like to do this as 1) it'd be a new experience for us and 2) the first of the 2 cruises would be a nice b-day celebration! (And Father's Day celebration)

I’m quite confident the ship crew can accommodate the situation with your child.  However, I doubt you’ll get much confirmation from Royal until you get on the ship. There always seems to be a crew member responsible for the B2B process.  Go to guest services early in the cruise and explain what needs to happen.  They can make it happen.  Ask to speak to the person who will be responsible to see to the details.

Don’t sweat the room change.  I’ve done it several times.  I actually like getting a new cabin for something different.  Work with your cabin steward on the actual details.  Some have preferences on how they like to accommodate you.  I choose to entirely repack my belongings into my luggage just so there are no loose clothes going down the hallway.  If you get a 2nd room that is near your first, you might keep the same steward or you can at least go introduce yourself to the new steward and let them know your bags are going be coming in that morning.

You will doing a b2b.  It's like flying first class once you do one you will want to keep doing them.😀

I am, also, confident they will be able to accommodate a minor leaving the ship (either with you or a staff member).

Moving cabins is easy peasy, no worries there.  It is also nice being able to go to your new cabin when done the re-entry onto the ship (usually done by 10ish).     Depending on the number of passengers doing a b2b you may have a lunch for consecutive cruisers.    Usually a very nice lunch served in the MDR.

Congratulations on your casino comp!

Not positive she's coming.   I'd feel only slight guilt but...lol.

Hmmm i should check where our cabin is for the 8 night. I almost don't care at all about repacking because at least I'm doing it to STAY on a cruise. Lol not as depressing as going home.

Well we've had a few suites and we've had regular balconies.  I think the only time we ever did inside cabins (together.... maybe each did before we met) was on a weekend cruise.  But because I got the cruise "free" we're trying not to spend more than necessary (port fees/taxes).  It's already not really free considering how much I lost in the casino to get it. 🙄🙄🙄

I completely understand.    Did you book the sailing while on Anthem?   If you did not go to the nextcruise desk you may want to do on the app while onboard by paying $100 or $200 in total.    Then the funds get applied to your port taxes and fees when you book back home Plus you will get any OBC that is offered with the nextcruise option.

Make sure to call the casino number for club royale to book the cruise (if not already done) and doesn't hurt to ask how much to upgrade to an OV or balcony.   Usually they offer some good upgrade prices.

Now that earned enough points to get a comped cruise.   Make sure to check www.clubroyaleoffers.com on a regular basis for any future offers.

B2b cruisers are free to disembark with other guests earlier in the day.  Just ask for an in transit card yo bypass the line when getting back on the ship.

Thanks for this information. My daughter wants to go to the sea life center in Seward, Alaska on a B2B in May. I was hoping we could get off early go to the center and get back on, without too much effort, later. Do I get this card at Guest Services?

Yes, you'll need to let them know in advance that this is your plan, and then you can get your new SeaPass card and the "in transit" pass at Guest Services that morning.

The "in transit" pass is what you show as you're arriving back at the terminal so people know that you don't need to go through the whole "check-in" process.  You'll still need to go through security and the x-ray machines, but after that you just get on the ship without stopping at the check-in desk.

The one leaving with her would need to get an "in transit" pass and the SeaPass for the second cruise at Guest Services the last morning.  I would set it up earlier in the cruise so they have it printed and ready for you to pick up.

After taking her off the ship to meet her ride, you'd then need to wait until General Boarding is started to get back on the ship.  The "in transit" card allows you to bypass the checking-in process.

When it comes to changing rooms, I prefer to go meet my new room's attendant the night before and make arrangements to bring my suitcases down to the new room around 8:30.  This gives the previous occupants time to get out, and then I just put my items in the closet so they're out of the way of the cleaners.  I also check with the new room attendant to see what time I can get into my room that day -- usually they have my room available by 11:00, so I can go in and get unpacked right away.

You can leave your luggage for the room attendant to move, but they have so much to do that I hate to add on to their turn-around-day tasks.  Plus, by moving them myself, I know for a fact that nothing got forgotten or lost or put into the wrong room (I know of people who have had that happen).  Additionally, my belongings are available to me right away, whereas sometimes the room attendants don't get them delivered until mid-afternoon.

There really isn't anything to "do" the morning of turn-around-day, so moving my luggage burns up a couple minutes of my time.

Thank you.  I didn't do it in board....  the final batch of points (from 1700 to 2000) were the last night after I swore I'd stop flushing money down the drain.

I talked to the folks at CR last night and she's holding the 5 night for me until today. Gotta make sure my boss is ok with two weeks of time off lol.

That being said she told me I would see $150 free play in my account on board.  I dont know if this is for something else or what but I had seen the "Next Cruise" offer and just didn't go for it.

Only issue I can see is that you can get off well before the sea life center opens.  So maybe go to the B2B group location and get your next cruise cards (or they will have you go to Guest Services to get them) and walk off the ship before the B2B group does.  You can go to the center with her and then come back to the ship.  Boarding runs late in Seward.  We had time to take an 11am Kenai Fjord cruise and still get back before dinner.

We try to have the same cabin on B2Bs, but sometimes we've had to change and I also prefer to move everything myself.

Unfortunately, I think each time we've had to switch cabins, we've also hit the timing where the cabin stewards are shuffled to different locations of the ship.  So although I've tried to meet the new cabin steward ahead of time, they've always said they'll be assigned a different location.  I think they switch locations near the beginning of each month.
