Is that an Ohio phrase? Never heard it!!

Ha! I've been saying that one a while since my early years in my true home state - Michigan.  It's my 2nd grade teacher's fault - none of us could say coincidence - not sure where she got the "easier version", but it stuck and there you have it.

No, your 2nd grade teacher didn't make that up. It is a popular slang term for coincidence.

Just off the Sky and there was no additional players card.  We simply used the room card.  We used both the ATM and withdrew from the account on file (have to sign a form). The room card worked in all the machines I tried, no issues.  The fees have been covered here and are accurate. We did not sign up before hand, just asked a casino host for help activating the room key which took seconds.

I'm not sure how many points to a free cruise, but husband was "gifted" one.  Then casino at sea contacted us and gave us $5k off a 19 nighter we had already booked.  I believe 8 nights is the max for a free cruise. So good luck!  We did great on craps and three card poker.

you can get higher than 8 nights comped.  I'm doing a 10 night cruise next month, I've had an 11 night before, and I've read of others with longer

Yes, we have had a couple of 12 night cruises comped.  I'm sure others have had 14 nighters comped, or back to back cruises comped.

That's great that CAS contacted you for $$ off an already booked cruise!

How many tier points did he earn during your cruise?

You may be close to (or already qualified for) additional benefits per cruise.  It's based on how many tier points you earn during the earning period of April 1st to March 31st.    For example, I am Ruby and each and every cruise I get $400 OBC, 400 minutes of WIFI and upgraded drinks in the casino.  Then, I also get additional OBC to comp items off my bill at the end of the cruise based on my play.

not sure there are player's card anymore.

My most recent cruise (on the Jade in August) had no casino card.  You used your room key.  I did make the lowest tier status and received a drink card, good through Apr 2025. I think they also gave me a players' card stating PEARL.  I had reach about 8,000 points if I recall in 30 days/3 cruises.

Are the bottled waters, sports/energy drinks, coffees and expressos available with the lowest level card? My card says HOUSE across a green stripe on the bottom.

Lowest level (Jade) has no benefits

Best recollection was 3200 points. This was our first NCL sailing and only 9 nights, so we will be something like bronze.

Thanks, I am so wrong on this, I looked at my booking.  the 19 night was comped.  We paid for the administration fee, the taxes, the FAS taxes on the drink package and the gratuity, plus we paid 1k for a cabin upgrade that I didn't realize we were charged for!

If you reach 5000 points in the playing year (April 1st to March 31st), you can start earning additional benefits per cruise.  Here's a link to their page

All of those things "should" be available in the Casino Bar and you are entitled to them, but I am guessing it varies by ship whether they are readily available in the Casino Bar.  They will source them for you if it's not at the Casino Bar.  On the Sun, they didn't have a fancy coffee/espresso machine in the bar area, but whenever I asked my drink appeared within minutes.

My 20-day Sun/Panama Canal was comped and my upcoming 15-day Spirit/Hawaii-Alaska followed two days later by Sun/Alaska all comped.  I travel solo so I'm sure that's in the calculation for how many nights.

I don’t know that the Casino Bar has specialty coffees and espressos.

Good point.  I can't speak for all of them, but I know that at least on the breakaway and getaway they do.  They do market those as available with the drink card, so I would think all the casino bars have them, but I say that as a fact

If you don't mind my asking, what casino tier level are you?

Just made Ruby for April 2024 - March 2025.  When I booked those cruises I was at Pearl/Sapphire and I was only offered "inside" cabins.  I had to use my BofA WP points to upgrade.  I felt like it was still a good deal for me especially since I tend to take longer cruises. I just booked another back to back set of cruises and for the first time I have been offered balcony's.  😁

Thanks! It's good to know what points level you need to be at to receive the better offers. We were always Jade and never got very good offers from CAS.

We've been sailing mostly with Royal the past couple of years and have learned that more points equals better offers. We're looking forward to our NCL cruise next month to see if we can get back on the CAS radar.

as others have mentioned, you can book just about any cruise through CAS, except for pride of america (as there is no casino onboard). certain players have newer ships like the prima and viva excluded, as well. the stateroom category and the length of the cruise for auto-generated standard offers varies based on play... but tends to max out most often at 12 days. but, assuming you have some strong play, they will custom design an offer for you based on your demonstrated track record (of play). tier status, just as in a land-based casino, usually has nothing to do with this. you can be a "ruby" player that has stronger play and higher ADT than an "elite" player. the elite player may simply have gone on more cruises. so, just call them and tell them where you want to go and when and they will run the numbers and tell you wether they can comp it or if you'll be expected to pay for a portion of it.

as far as back to back cruises... i have done several of these through CAS. they are usually treated and booked as separate cruises. so if you have a couple of offers for 12 day cruises, you can book a 24 day cruise by using those standard offers, provided you can get two B2B itineraries that you like. and, yes, you get 2X the tier benefits... once for each cruise. do it in your birthday month and you'll generally get free play, too.

did anybody get the current "gift of giving" offer? this is a holiday-themed offer they've done variations of in the past, but this year was really compelling... my offer was a 12 day comped cruise for me in a balcony and a "gift" of a comped cruise for my guests in an inside cabin. we pay taxes and fees, but the admin fees are apparently  waived. i haven't booked it yet, but will likely do so this week, as it expires december 15. travel is good through november of 2024, which is a very generous booking window for CAS.

This type of info is why I love, love, love CC.  Gift of giving you say...?  Will have to check it out and report back.  Thanks for the info
