kermie1963 Posted December 6, 2023 #1 Share Posted December 6, 2023 I have an interior cabin on deck 7 in the middle of the ship. I got an offer for an ocean-view cabin on deck one in the front of the ship. Is the upgrade worth it?
Riles34 Posted December 6, 2023 #2 Share Posted December 6, 2023 How much? And it really depends on if you want some light in the room or not. I was on Deck 1 interior and the elevators are great on the ship with minimal wait times, so keep that in mind. You choose the floor you want to go to from the outside and then it tells you what elevator to get on.
nwcruiselover Posted December 6, 2023 #3 Share Posted December 6, 2023 I would take an upgrade from interior to OV in a heartbeat as long as the upgrade cost is reasonable.

Rare maxandmolly Posted December 6, 2023 #5 Share Posted December 6, 2023 That’s too much for me. If it was a balcony, sure, but not just an ocean view.
mz-s Posted December 6, 2023 #6 Share Posted December 6, 2023 (edited) Keep your deck 7 location. Deck 1 rooms can have a lot of noise and vibration during docking. Edited December 6, 2023 by mz-s
nwcruiselover Posted December 6, 2023 #7 Share Posted December 6, 2023 How long is the cruise? I probably wouldn’t make the change at that price for a 7 day cruise, but probably would for 14 days.

mets07 Posted December 6, 2023 #9 Share Posted December 6, 2023 Hi, did you get an email with the offer or you found it within your cruise reservation? Thanks and enjoy your cruise.

I don't believe we have ever accepted an upgrade offer, but we continue to get them from time to time.

havanadaydreaming Posted December 10, 2023 #13 Share Posted December 10, 2023 This is a toughie, for me. 11 nt OV? Heck yeah. Deck 1? Uhhhhhh.... (I have an irrational aversion to decks 1 and 2. Ive only recently shed my balcony only rule which lead to OV. Not too shabby! From that we have had two inside casino offer cabin offers we couldnt refuse. Meh. I like that natural sunlight!!!)
Rare Haljo1935 Posted December 14, 2023 #14 Share Posted December 14, 2023 @kermie1963 if you don't smoke or have an aversion to the smell of cig smoke, you may want to reconsider a mid-ship deck 7 cabin (of any type) on Venezia. We had an aft wrap deck 7 in Sept and really thought someone was smoking near the mid-ship elevators. Cabin Steward said it's from the casino - he has allergies and struggled w/it his entire contract. Just another point you may want to consider. Safe travels - enjoy your cruise!

Carnival Queen Posted December 15, 2023 #16 Share Posted December 15, 2023 We were in a forward cabin last week on Deck 3. The banging noises in the middle of the night (supposedly from ship movement and waves) we have never experienced before in 30 years of cruising - so loud and annoying. Maybe had to do with sailing out of NY in rougher seas??? But apparently felt only in forward cabins . . .
