Of course, they wouldn’t need it on sea days as they would be in the casino, but on port days where they have already been a zillion times. Unless there is a shoreside casino…. We tried to get the grand suite on our cruise and would have been able to find out ourselves, but they were sold out. I just don't understand why a small segregated area with a daybed would be worth $2000... what am I missing? Does it include food, drinks? Personal massages? Belly dancing lessons??? Only Excel level suites have access to Loft 19 - so a grand suite would not have done the trick. With the cabana, you do have cabana attendants who will bring you lunch (off their menu), or a Guys burger. They won't go to Big Chicken for you (I trekked there on my own a couple of times). Also, they'll bring you champagne (well, sparking wine) along with frozen fruit balls (cantaloupe, watermelon, honeydew). I don't see us splurging for one again (I think we've done it 3 times). In fact, prior to the first sailing when we were on the ship for a tour, they had no idea at GS what the price would be. I will confess with our HAL cabana, it was a free interior that was later upgraded to a balcony on one side of the ship with our cabana retreat on the other side of the ship, so it was lovely to always have shade in one place or the other. It was not a casino deal, but just HAL trying to get the younger demographic. I doubt we'll be invited to another free cruise. It was lovely to have the opportunity though.
