Rare crusin7 Posted January 25 Author #151 Share Posted January 25 Warren I’m sorry to hear you are sick. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that we all stay healthy. Goodbye to SF We got some beautiful flowers yesterday. The Captain came on at 1715 to say the “seas are unfavorable“ and we would be leaving early. John the CD did the required emergency information. Then we lost power on the ship. It was only out for a few minutes. The internet was out for about one hour. We did not leave until our scheduled 1900. The seas are rough and rolling. It’s about 59°. Looking forward to land in 4 days.

Rare crusin7 Posted January 26 Author #153 Share Posted January 26 (edited) We had a busy day. To keep our mind off of the rolling of the ship we played Bingo. Yay I finally won….twice! I split the pot both times. Once with Cathy and on the last game. We went to a Lei making class led by Haulani and Walanu. We loved it and will wear them tonight. . We went to tea for the first time. Rare crusin7 Posted January 27 Author #163 Share Posted January 27 Today we went to a Cooking Demonstration with Guest Chef Paulette Mitchell. She told us all about herbs. She is very likable. I enjoyed her teaching methods. She prepared Basil Pesto Chicken Salad, Tabouli, Tapenade and Herb Roasted Vegetables. All the dishes were available in La Veranda for lunch. Delicious!

bissel Posted January 27 #166 Share Posted January 27 Dennis is one of the very best people on the Mariner in Compass Rose. We had three generations on an Alaskan cruise in 2019 and always went to CR because of Dennis. He was so much fun with our grandchildren! I am grateful to see a picture of him as I hoped he’d be back.
Rare crusin7 Posted January 28 Author #167 Share Posted January 28 Yesterday the ship was still bouncing around. We went to the Chef’s Cooking Demonstration in the Horizon Lounge. It was much too small a venue. She spoke about Spices.

Rare crusin7 Posted January 29 Author #173 Share Posted January 29 We went to the sparsely attended Speakers Series on Traditional Hawaii and Hula. It coincided with the Football playoffs. There was very little Hula. What we did get was enjoyable. Waianu Haulani
