World Europa isn't a sister ship of the MeravigliaClass Ships. The YC is totally different and there are much more cabins for the YC Restaurant or the Top Sail Lounge. We were in the WE YC a year ago, and it was not a good experience...  i will be on the WE in February and I hope it will be not so crowded as last year.

Yes, I know it’s different. I meant the other three were the same! 
You chose to go on WE again even though it was not a good experience? I guess it was t too bad then! 😅

The flight was an hour delayed and the reason was explained by our pilot. The original plane had ‘technical issues’ so it was replaced by another. This had to come from Milan so caused the delay.

Service was great onboard but I’m glad we didn’t shell out money for first class! Basically, it is the same three seats and a table rested over the middle one! Really not worth it in my opinion. 

 

Really annoying was a young American woman who talked loudly for the entire flight on her favourite subject- herself. She had an admiring audience who was listening avidly, hanging on her every word! At one point he was slapping his seats armrests laughing at her lame comments but, it spilled my tea on the tray table behind. He was making so much noise he completely missed me saying, “careful!’ 

The first class row was in the row on front of them so even they didn’t escape the verbal ear bashing!

 

Captain just came on to say we will be landing in 30 minutes. I can’t wait! 😅

 

Update: we waited half an hour at security in the ‘non Euro’ line! 

We’re at hotel Hyatt Hesperia Appartments now though! All good!

At restaurant and food offering us great! Mr CT happy as he’s getting pizza! I chose the chicken!

I hope the ship is not so crowded like last year in December. It is my last chance for this ship an i booked a normal balcony cabin not YC.

I'm excited If the ship is to big for us, we've seen it already in May 23 in Genua on our 6th Cruise with Grandiosa - the ship ís very impressive!

Thanks so much! I’m really excited this morning! I hope to get there nice and early but MrCT didn’t sleep well last night so is making up for it now!

Good morning Barcelona! We have a huge balcony but it’s too cold out there to enjoy it! 
would be great in the summer. We have been here on the past and used it for breakfast out there. This time we were told breakfast was included! Not bad for the £65 rate I paid!

Well what a saga! We went to cruise terminal, just 10am and I thought ship looked great so reached for my iPhone for a shot! It wasn’t there! 😱

So we searched on ‘find my phone’ and it indicated it was back at the hotel! 
We asked taxi to turn around but when we got to the hotel we searched bags, played a sound on iPhone…and, you guessed it- it was in large suitcase! 😅😂

On the way to terminal again- Take two! 😂

Moral of story - don't swap handbags around!

We never book Club Europe with BA, as you say it is just not worth it given the relatively short flights and no significant improvement in the seat.

 

You can get cheap upgrade offers though, but even then it is rarely worth it.

We were in an apartment in Lisbon for 3 days, got up early very sleepy rushed  to go get ship pics and estimate earliest boarding.

 

Went back to finish packing and get ready.

 

Could not find my wedding ring.

Looked everywhere for ages 

Just as we were about to leave and check my walking route in case it fell off one last check, it had slipped under the bedside table lamp that was on little legs.

Boarding was a breeze! 
Here are the shots of the ship that I intended to take the first time. 😅

We were warmly welcomed at each stage of check in, at the tent outside, the little waiting room (love the chocolate nuts!) and then onboard in the Top Sail Lounge. 
It was probably the warmest welcome we have received. We were settled onboard within minutes! 

All was explained about the Yacht Club experience and the other dining option at another restaurant onboard called La Brasserie. 
I took a photo of the menu but didn’t book for tonight. 

The outside area out of the Top Sail lounge is sunny and warm and we’re loving this different area. Service has been excellent so far!

We plumped for the YC restaurant for a light lunch today. I loved my starter and cheese plate with my special request of no blue cheeses. The service was attentive, friendly and exemplary.

After the drill in the afternoon we looked around the ship. Honestly, when I saw the spiral slide and the view it made me say “Wow!” Similar to how I felt when I first saw some venues!

We looked in the various venues, restaurants and bars. A great variety. Although the ship is full, it didn’t feel crowded anywhere. 
Masters of the Sea The Gin Project.Stairs join the two bars.Juice bar.Promenade with moving ceiling mirrors- they make an interesting effect.

Next we watched the sail out from different places front of ship in Yacht Club- the best views! I loved sailing out of Barcelona.

We are just enjoying drinks and pre dinner snacks to the fabulous sounds of talented singer, Giulia Nicolini.

Met our wonderful butler tonight. She was thorough with offering to unpack cases, which drinks we wanted, took some of our allocated laundry for pressing and asked about treat preferences and ice. 
Then she escorted us to the rear of the ship to the Panama Lounge for the fully booked show and got us in. 
The show is good and the singer has a powerful voice which did justice to the rock songs she was singing.
