I don’t know if people are convinced so much as the T&C says that opening the door is the play. So, logically, more door openings equals more opportunities.

If both guests have the Premier package is only one passenger playing  for a prize?

thanks

Firstly, both guests must have Premier if one of them does and so yes... both are playing 🙂

This is true... you play each time the door is opened but I don't know the rules such as is there an interval between plays... otherwise you could just stand in the corridor opening the door continuously!

There is a time out, so you cannot just stand at your door and continuously open and close for entries. My experience on the Sapphire last December was after about 2-3 consecutive door unlockings, you will get a message of ‘try again later’ meaning you have been timed out and need to wait before the ‘game’ will register another entry. Not certain of the wait time but believe it is at least 10 minutes.

When the game is active, meaning the casino is open, if you do not win a prize, you should get the message ‘better luck next time’.

After reading through T&Cs, it absolutely appears that there is gamesmanship beyond merely enrolling. If the prizes work as outlined in the T&C, then making extra visits and opening the door with regularity and deliberation would increase opportunities to win over someone who makes considerably fewer visits to the stateroom.

The T&C doesn’t purport what the flyer posted here does regarding odds. The T&C claims 1:100,000 in the 7-day cruise. The flyer promises 1 per cruise. It seems unlikely that 1:cruise and 1:100,000 would equate.

If they give away one per cruise and 1000 people per cruise open their doors 100 times that would work out.

Not all people onboard are enrolled.

I don't think it means what you are suggesting... one room enrolment but both are then playing on that one enrolment so either can win.

That is how I read that 🙂

But it is awarded to the primary guest. I cruise quite often with friends and if a $250 OBC is won then it would go to guest number one and not to the person that actually won the prize.

On the Discovery inaugural, I won a bunch of cash.  My wife(same room), won a flower arrangement and $250 OBC.  That was then.  Who knows about now.

Ask the passengers who have just received 4 days notice that their cruse is cancelled

I understand the frustration and the outrage, but nobody posting on CC has enough information to know why and how these decisions were made. And the public will probably never know how it transpired. I’m not saying there aren’t reasons that someone should resign, but sacrificing one man for the delay without more information doesn’t seem fair even if it is a popular opinion with the mob.

Wow, that’s awesome. Do you remember if the prizes showed up for both of you or just under passenger one?

Well, I had to fill out paperwork for the IRS, and got paperwork for taxes, then they gave me an envelope full of cash.  My wife never got anything, so I figured it was below any reportable amount, tho I still included it on our tax return.  I was informed of my win separately, while at Sabatinis/salty dog, and she got notification once we returned to the cabin.  The flowers just showed up in the room with a card to her.  It all seemed very separate.

So you won over $1,200.00 if you had to report?

But both are playing in the sense that either guest entering the cabin can generate a prize... it is just that it is only posted to one of the guests account. I don't find that surprising as it is the room that is registered so the prize would go to the primary guest for the room.

it's the game that never ends .....  🤞

Is there anywhere I can find a list of the prizes starting April 1st? I've googled and nothing has come up past March 31, 2024. Our cruise starts on April 5th.

I will say the 8 of us went in/out our door many times, and NONE of us won anything.

Not everyone wins - that is kinda the point 🙂

Interesting and informative read, thanks.

However, sounds like a door-slammers paradise! 😩

Good luck to everyone. We have Premier on our next cruise, but will try and close our door quietly.

Sorry to our neighbours in advance.🙃
