Nieuw Statendam January 25, 2025

Our ship sails one year from today! We are Jon and Brenda from Michigan. We will be sailing with another couple. We are all in our 60's, and are SO excited about this trip! We look forward to meeting fellow cruisers on this forum.

My sister and I are taking my Mom (in her 90s) on the same ship and the same date! It will depart from Fort Lauderdale for 7-night-8-day East Caribbean cruise ☺️

Join your Roll Call on cruise critic.  Then you will be communicating with people who will be on that cruise.  The Roll Call probably won't pick up for awhile because it's fairly far out from it's sail date.

Hello @iteach3 and Welcome to Cruise Critic @MayW!   I think you want to be posting on the

Roll Call for this trip which is where you can converse with others on your cruise.  You can discuss shore excursions and other ideas and arrange to meet others there.  

 

I don't see a Roll Call yet for this date so here is the link to the Roll Call forum where you can find out how to start a Roll Call for your cruise.

Michael and Lin here. We'll be joining you for the week!

Just got the following notice about this itinerary change on Monday the 18th:

"Please be advised that due to port congestions, Nieuw Statendam will no longer
call to Grand Turk, Turks & Caicos on Monday, January 27, 2025, and will
instead call to Amber Cove, Dominican Republic from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM on the
same date. Additionally, we will now arrive in San Juan, Puerto Rico at 12:00
noon on Tuesday, January 28, rather than 1:00 PM as previously scheduled."

It looks like Carnival Magic and Enchanted Princess will be in the Turks port (which is actually one of our favorite beach days....) that day, and oddly 2 ships will be in port at Amber Cove with us: NCL Epic and CCL Magic. The political situation in neighboring Haiti will hopefully be calmed down by then so this port isn't cancelled too!

Out of interest, would the mod's move it to a non existant roll call or would the mods create one, or, just leave it here until someone creates a roll call?  Just wondering on what the policy would be. 😉

No idea, but was thinking they could just move it, and it would become the Roll Call for that cruise.

In this instance they probably could do that as the sailing date is in the title.  

Anyway, I will probably get a notice about hijacking a thread and posting off topic, so back to regular programing....😃

FYI: A roll call has been created for this cruise in the "roll call" forums by "capt. wentworth" on March 22, 2024.
