Its £2900

That seems steep, we've had a couple of trips in Britannia Club but I probably wouldn't pay that much extra.

Is that each or per cabin, for how many nights ?

The upgrade was more worthwhile when the Britannia restaurant was only fixed seatings.

Most Alaska cruises are 10 days, so the upgrade might be £290 per day. Is that per couple?  If it is an upgrade from an inside that is perhaps a reasonable amount but if from a typical balcony cabin it seems a bit high to me.

The club offers single sitting for all meals at an assigned table, which is something that has great appeal to me. There is also an à la carte menu at dinner.

OP indicated that it is an upgrade from normal balcony, not inside.

I think its to expensive for a smaller dining venue with the same food

It's a wee bit more than that.

You do have the same table with same waiters and Maître d at every meal. It might be a substitute sommelier at lunchtime. You can walk in anytime that suits within opening hours.

You also have the à la carte menu in evening if the main menu doesn't inspire, although some might need to be ordered at lunchtime. There were several dishes on that we rather liked.

You do get a full bottle of sparkling in cabin and daily replenished bottled water.

We like deck 12 for the cabin.

We never use pubs, buffets or specialist dining so quite like the dining situation.

I've no idea what the price difference would be for our bookings but if you don't think it's worth £2,900 to you I'm sure you'll enjoy the MD just as much. As you say the main menu is just the same.

We personally book Clubs since we have become accustomed to the location, deck and enjoy the dining feature of the category.

We have and been upgraded more from that location with the help most likely with our loyalty background too.

But the dining feature is a plus with our past experiences we enjoyed on the QE2 as an example with set dining times thru out voyages.

We personally are not passengers who like to dine under ANYTIME and keep changing tables, locations, times and staff. Not how we personally dine at home. Also we don't care to sail on ships with multi plus number dining locations.

So the now a days cruisers are definitely different from past times.

We also like the restaurant assignment to the cabin category.

The price seems a little steep. Of course, it is each to your own but taking on board your own bottled water and treating your selves to Veranda dinning every nigh instead of Britannia would also give you an 'extra' dining experience and probably still be less cost than an upgrade that is more dining led than cabin comfort.
