mr moneypenny Posted August 6 #51 Share Posted August 6 Wherever I go, I look for a Springhill Suites first because they are reasonable and very consistent.
mjkacmom Posted August 6 #52 Share Posted August 6 Keep in mind there are several universities in Boston with students coming back to campus. Book the hotel early (and expect to pay closer to $500).
LinP Posted August 6 #53 Share Posted August 6 I have family picking me up at the cruise port in mid-September. Looking for a safe area 3 - 4 stars outside Boston. They will be driving up from Virginia and need a place to sleep but nothing fancy. Any recommendations?

It's a full service hotel, but nothing fancy. Sometimes its in the low to mid $100s, sometimes it can be expensive for what it is. But never as expensive as downtown Boston. Coming from the south, I expect they will arrive via the Mass Turnpike, it is almost always faster than I-95. Since they aren't picking you up first thing in the morning, I'd look for lodging between Hartford, CT and Sturbridge Mass to get the best combo of rates and convenience
