Rare LACruiser88 Posted May 12 Author #678 Share Posted May 12 Well folks, this is a wrap for us! We had a great time and made great new friends. I do not want to sound like a Princess Fan Club, but having cruised with a number of different cruise lines over the past 35 years, the crews on Princess have proven to us to be the most friendly and kind. Kudos to the crews despite the challenges that the pandemic and the corporate cut backs have affected them! They are the reason we stay loyal to the brand. We will now spend 3 nights at the Downtown Seattle Hyatt Regency before flying home to LAX. We will spend one of our days visiting with my cousin and her husband at their home in Issaquah. The next cruise for us will the October 17th, 32-day voyage on the Coral Princess, Singapore to Los Angeles. We will be spending a week in Singapore prior to boarding the ship. This voyage will take us to Thailand, Vietnam, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, and Hawaii. ¡Adiós! 13

jeromep Posted May 12 #681 Share Posted May 12 Thank you for the live. I appreciated all your photos of the places you visited, and the menu and food photos. Someday we will be able to do something similar, a long cruise, but with school aged kids, jobs, household chores, and senior pets, that is a ways off for us. I look forward to your October sailing, I hope I am able to catch it in the forums. It was nice following the Majestic as she re-positioned to the Pacific coast. We will be on her at the end June for a 7-day Alaska cruise. I tend to fall off the forums for a while after a cruise as a coping mechanism, knowing that we won't be cruising for a while (due to the aforementioned kids, school, house, deaf and arthritic cat, etc.) always makes me a little sad. I hope you enjoy the rest of your time in Washington.
Rare LACruiser88 Posted May 12 Author #682 Share Posted May 12 Sorry, I'm back. But, only for a moment. After checking into our hotel, we walked down to the Pike Place Market. I had the best Fried Oyster Po'Boy ever! And I have had them all over the US. This was fantastic and I highly recommend "Seatown Rub Shack & FishFry." Debbie had a Salmon Sandwich and we shared Steamed Mussels as an appetizer. Everything was great! Btw, the market was a sea of humanity today. Okay, now I'm really done! 🤣 11
DavidsNana Posted May 12 #683 Share Posted May 12 Thank you so very much for this "live from" review and pictures. I always look forward to them and do hope that you continue. I know it is a lot of work but we all enjoy them so much. I'll never get to many of the places that you travel to and almost feel as if I am there through your reviews.

Rare LACruiser88 Posted May 13 Author #688 Share Posted May 13 I'm back again, but I promise this is really, really, the last time. We have been in Seattle a number of times over the years, but we had not visited the Chihuly Garden and Glass Museum until today. Wow!!! It was amazing and should not be missed! It is right next door to the Space Needle. The following photos do not do the displays justice, but will give you an idea of the beauty of these art pieces. A few of the outdoor displays. And, we returned to Seatown for lunch. It was just as good the second time around! Okay, now we are done... 🤪

unagidon Posted May 14 #694 Share Posted May 14 Thanks again @LACruiser88 for the incredible trip report! I used your photos of the daily schedule to plan what to do before I got on board for the final baby leg which was nice. Also got a lot of great ideas for future trips. Appreciate you taking the time to put this together. Safe travels!

Line moved fairly quickly once you were in the terminal. Thank you for the info on the U.S. immigration process in Honolulu. Was there also a Global Entry line at the port? I will disembark there in April on the Royal, and we are also arriving from Moorea. The plan was an early self walk-off, as I have to catch a flight at noon. A taxi from the ship should take about 15 minutes to the airport( Contraflow into town takes away a lane, but even in heavy traffic, shouldn't be more than 30 mins)) When we docked from Moorea, Immigration was about 1/2hr late in opening. If you can get first group of walk off with a 0700 arrival, you have a good cushion for a Noon flight.
