Good Morning

The annual Seatrade Cruise Global conference is coming up in a few weeks, where representatives from the global cruise industry descend on Miami for a week filled with cruise discussions, panels, programming & more.

This year, the State of the Global Cruise Industry Keynote is inviting Cruise Critic members to submit questions to be considered for the conversation with CEOs from Carnival, Royal, NCLH and MSC. CEOs on the panel include:

  • Harry Sommer, President & CEO of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings
  • Jason Liberty, President & CEO of Royal Caribbean Group
  • Josh Weinstein, President, CEO & Chief Climate Officer of Carnival Corporation
  • Pierfrancesco Vago, Executive Chairman of MSC Group
  • Kelly Craighead, President & CEO at Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA)

To help develop the panel questions, we'd love to hear from you

What questions do you have for the CEOs? Whether you have questions around itineraries, onboard experience, amenities, or more --
we're eager to hear them.

Please share below to have your question(s) considered for the panel!

Thanks!

Aubrey

Are the questions that actually get asked going to be pre-screened?  If so, by whom.  Transparency matters.

Thanks for the question, @mnocket. Due to time limitations, we'll only be able to get to a handful of questions, so questions will be selected by the Cruise Critic team ahead of submitting to the show. Hope that helps!

All right, I'll play along, like I did last year:

  • Mr. Sommer, when are the Broadway shows that were axed last year by NCL due to be replaced?  Or will they ever be replaced??
  • Mr. Vago, in your view, how are the plans for MSC world domination going?
  • Mr. Liberty, is your long-term goal the narrowing of the differences between cruising on Celebrity and cruising on Royal Caribbean?
  • Mr. Liberty, when is construction due to start on Perfect Day at Lelepa?
  • Mr. Weinstein, when is construction due to start on the dock at Half Moon Cay?

What role if any do Cruise Critic discussions play in operations and decision making.  For example, there have been many discussions about failures from outsourced customer service operations.  Is that feedback recognized?

Q: Is a hot dog a sandwich

Hoagies, Heros, and Submarines are sandwiches.  So, I suppose some might say a hot dog, coney, or red hot is too.  But I don't think so.  Let's see what the CEO's have to say on the subject.  😀

The mainstream cruise lines all seem to be following a trend of larger ships and more passengers.  While a lot of amenities and great entertainment are getting added to these spectacular ships, the basic 101 services like housekeeping, waitstaff, and food quality seem to be taking a big hit.  Everything is feeling rushed, and cuts are noticed everywhere.  How do we find a balance before the scales get tipped too far away from the basic great service of yesteryear?

How often do the various cruise line CEO's go on cruises themselves? Are they cruising on their own cruise ships as well as others? Are they ever immediately recognized or have they managed to stay incognito for an entire trip?
