‘Undefined Days Till Sailing’ Message in Online Check-In

Recommended Posts

It’s after midnight and I should be able to check in, but when I click ‘Complete Online Check-In’ I get a message that says “Undefined Days Till Sailing”. Does anyone know how to get around this message? I stayed up late to try to get an early boarding time and am really disappointed. 😞

TIA,

Ashley

It might be a glitch in the system.  Or maybe you are trying to check in too early - are you Platinum or Diamond?  If so, you should be able to check in 2 days earlier than others.  If not you may be trying to check in too early.  Also - try another browser.  I know Safari doesn't work for checkin for me - I have to use google chrome on my computer.  Good luck!

I figured it out. The cruise is out of Seattle. It wouldn’t let me check in until 3:00 am, which was midnight Seattle time. I guess it goes off the time at the departure port. I was able to get an 11:00 arrival time.

We had the same issue early this month trying to check in for our cruise out of Galveston.  Everyone on out roll call had the same problem.  We all tried to check in at midnight Eastern Time and were getting the “Undefined Days Till Sailing” message.  😭  We continued trying on a PC and phone every few minutes.  It started to work shortly after midnight – departure-port time.  Seems like check in was always at midnight Eastern Time in the past.  Oh, well.  We got a 10:30-11:00 arrival time. 🙂

I had the same issue trying to check in for my Alaska cruise on Saturday thinking it’s midnight in Florida. So I waited until the next morning and tried again and got 10:30-11 am check in.

Correct, it runs on Miami time.

That's what I thought, and was my prior experience.  But for our upcoming cruise it didn't open till midnight at the departure port.  Maybe Carnival has changed their ways.

Same for me last week.  I'm in California, sailing out of Long Beach.  Could not check-in until after midnight Pacific time.

Last year I was able to check in just after 9:00 p.m. for our Alaska cruise out of Seattle, so it must have changed recently.

  • 3 weeks later...

Saw this thread after I ran into issues trying to check in at 9 PM PST but now its well past midnight PST and I still can't check in for my cruise out of Long Beach .Very frustrating, especially when the link is active. Carnival needs to get it together.

1:30 AM PST. Still not working. Giving up for the night. Saw a Reddit thread where someone said they brought this issue up to John Heald and he said the check in issues that people were having was a 'glitch' and that check-in was still supposed to start at midnight EST. Apparently the glitch has now just become broken instead.

Same thing happened to us a couple weeks ago.  We are also sailing out of LB. At 9 pm Pacific, the checkin button became available. But we got the same error message as OP and everyone else.

We tried again after midnight on the same device, to no avail.
Once we switched to a different device, we were able to start the checkin process around 12:20 am Pacific. 🥱😴

I used the iPad with Safari browser at 9pm and 12 am. The checkin button was available but again I got the error msg. I closed the page and tried again around 12:01-ish. But to no avail.
I tried my IPhone around 12:15, and I noticed that I was able to start the checkin process. But I abandoned that idea because it’s so small.👀 I finally sauntered over to my laptop and did the check-in. Who wants to inadvertently input their passport numbers incorrectly at 20 minutes after midnight!?. 😳 Uhm not me! 😂

This is all starting to make sense.  There are usually multiple versions of an application, each supporting different operating systems and different browser types.  The web-site versions used by laptops and desktops are usually the 'Gold' versions.  I personally use only this version when making important transactions like banking, reservations, and in this case, check-in as they have the least amount of issues.

Ugh, so frustrating! It always used to be midnight Miami, but fortunately I am in Pacific time zone, so I'll just stay up until midnight I guess. Was looking forward to it being 9 pm, but at least it won't be 3 am.
