Quantum of the Seas

Recommended Posts

I have a Quantum 15 day cruise from Seattle to Tokyo on hold. It has a great price and a nice itinerary. But we’ve never been on any RCL cruise. We’ve been on about 50 cruises, mostly long cruises like Transatlantic, Panama, South America and one Transpacific. Mostly sailed with Disney with a few NCI and a few Princess. We don’t use the casinos. Will we like the Quantum? Will the main dinning room be “good” enough? How is the entertainment? Are there any balcony areas that we should avoid or try to get?

Thanks for all your help in letting us make this decision!

We are a fan of the big ships, Oasis Class. We have sailed on most Royal Ships and most have been great. Last year we did 17 nights on Quantum and Ovation.  The most boring 17 nights we have ever cruised.  Ship seems much smaller than it actually is. Shows were lack luster and not much to do. Food on Quantum was about the worst we have ever had on any Royal ship.  Had a balcony on deck 11 forward and it was very quiet and nice.  Try for the Grande Restaurant, it is the most elegant of the four. We are in our 70s and said never again on a Quantum class ship. I am sure there are plenty with the exact opposite experience.

I really enjoyed Quantum for my Alaska cruise out of Seattle last year.  I've been on Odyssey three times and I think the shows are better on Quantum.  I also had one of the best MDR experiences since the restart on that Alaska cruise last June.  Great service and the food was perfect.  The itinerary you mentioned sounds incredible.  If I was retired I would look into that cruise.  But alas, 10 or more years at least before that happens.  I hope you enjoy the cruise.

We cruised on Quantum in 2019,we had a JS on 'the hump' on deck 13,beautiful ship,so much quirky artwork, the ship seems light & airy & never seemed too big or too crowded,we loved it but we are all different!

We've cruised on Quantum and loved it.  We also did 10 days on her sister ship Ovation to Hawaii and were never bored.  The 270 is a great place to relax in the day and it is a great entertainment space as well.  The solarium is my favorite on any ship I've been on, just get there early!
