Afterwards, we went to Guy’s for a burger and sat down at the Red Frog Rum Bar…..

 

 

Patti is going to go back to the Liquid Lounge for Marty’s Q&A, and then the Jackpot Bingo. But first she cruises by Guy’s Pig & Anchor BBQ to see what they are offering…..

I make my way down to the Havana Area and have a couple of Malibu Bay Breezes with Kiran…..

 

 

Patti plays the Jackpot Bingo, but doesn’t have any luck…..

Patti had the Young Lettuce Salad, French Onion Soup, Lobster Tail with a Baked Potato, Apple Tart Dessert, and several glasses of Rose.

 

I had a Shrimp Cocktail, Young Lettuce Salad, 14oz New York Strip Steak with Yukon Mashed Potatoes, Apple Tart Dessert, and several glasses of Moscato.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

We walked out of there in a food coma and decided to head back to the cabin. We figured we would leave the barstools for the poor people who would be getting off the ship tomorrow!

 

Today’s Cheers count: Patti = 6, Jeff = 10. For the day (+4), for the cruise (+12).

At 7:15am we are officially back on the road and heading to I-95…..

 

 

Just a few minutes later we have crossed the border into Florida…..

 

 

We decided to take the I-295 Beltway to avoid the morning rush hour traffic through Jacksonville…..

 

 

 

A short time later we are crossing over the Dames Point Bridge. This is the bridge you sail under if you sail on the Elation from the Jacksonville Cruise Terminal…….

Here's a quick overview of our sea day on Friday, April 19.

 

Like every day, we started at Ocean Plaza Bar. There was a baby race going on in OP.

 

 

 

Breakfast on Lido, followed by our morning walk on the track. Tides pool was relatively quiet at that time.

 

 

Since the Diamond/Platinum gathering was at noon, we had a little time to kill so we had a couple drinks in Heroes. I really like that space but it could double as a walk-in freezer.

 

 

 

Off to the D/P party.

 

 

We sat down in the back but saw Jeff standing by the front row and there were seats open, so we made our way up front to sit with Jeff & Patti.

 

 

 

Marty is one of our favorite CD's - he was EVERYWHERE and super friendly.

 

 

Then it was time for lunch - we went to Cucina and it was delicious! Best lasagna I've ever had on a cruise ship.

 

 

 

 

 

 

We went to Red Frog Rum Bar for a bit and were surprised it wasn't at all crowded for the last sea day.

 

 

Went back to the room to shower and found a visitor had dropped in.

 

 

Ate something for dinner on Lido, then stopped by Ocean Plaza to get a quick drink with Setyo. Karaoke was going on in OP.

 

 

Moved over to atrium bar for a while and listened to Juno Smile.

 

 

We were actually up late enough for late night snacks on Lido.

Wow what a week! Looking forward to Part 2 as we are doing the same agenda in December. I didn't realise how much I missed the Vista 😁

Thursday April 18th was a great day! It was my 10 year cancer-free anniversary and it was a good day to be alive and happy and on a cruise! After coffee at Ocean Plaza Bar, we grabbed a quick bite to eat and walked off the ship. But first we hid a couple pink ducks/flamingos.

 

 

 

We stopped by the pool to say hi to Jeff and Patti, can't believe I didn't get any pictures there. Then we walked up the ramp to the Sky Bar. The views are gorgeous up there.

 

 

 

 

 

All the tables by the rail were taken but there were two seats at the bar waiting for us.

 

 

I had a couple pink drinks and we enjoyed our time there. We poked around in the shops and I bought a Christmas ornament, then we headed back to the ship. 

 

 

 

This one was not ours. LOL (I sent a picture of this to our son & DIL that day. They were on Mardi Gras this past week and made it a point to order one of these at the Sky Bar.)

 

 

By the time we got back to the ship, we were HOT and needed something cold to drink! We stopped at the lobby bar and were happily surprised to find the fabulous Melissa working there. I was happy and mad all at the same time! We'd been on the ship since Sunday and here it was Thursday and we had no idea Melissa was even on the ship. We hadn't been to the lobby bar since embarkation day and she wasn't there then. Good thing we were on a B2B so we still had a lot of days left to see Melissa.

 

 

 

Dinner that night was lobster night (yay for my husband, I'm allergic) so we went to the MDR for the first time that week. We ordered champagne with peach schnapps instead of peach puree. A Bellini, right? I couldn't get the waiter to understand that. He came back and told me it would counted as two drinks. What? I always drink that on Carnival and it's never been an issue. We looked at each other and said whatever, we're not going to hit 15 drinks anyway. So we ordered champagne and we thought one shot of peach schnapps but they brought two - about 10 minutes apart.

 

 

 

So we split the shot between our glasses and took the second shot with us. lol Since I don't eat seafood, I ordered prime rib for Mark so he could get two lobster tails and I had chicken cordon bleu.

Mine. These spring rolls were delish.

 

 

 

 

 

Mark had chocolate melting cake and I had creme brulee.

 

 

 

So then we hightailed it to Ocean Plaza and got a couple glasses of champagne from Setyo to use our second shot of peach schnapps in those. Then went to see Melissa at lobby bar so I could get a proper glass of champagne/peach schnapps without it counting as two drinks. 😂 Melissa is actually the one who got me hooked on that drink back on Mardi Gras in 2021.

 

 

I kept seeing this guy. What on earth? Then it dawned on me - it's 80's night. lol

 

 

That's a wrap for 4/18. 🙂

 

 

My niece and I will be on the Vista at the end of February. We will be celebrating her 30th birthday (which is March 22) and my five-year cancer-versary (March 11). We will be celebrating a little early because this was the closet voyage with the itinerary we wanted (Aruba/Curacao). Congratulations!

Day # 7- (April 20th) – Turnaround Day  (7am  - 4pm).

 

We were up at 5am for the day. The Carnival Vista hasn’t even entered the channel to Port Canaveral as of yet. I decide that it’s a good time to work on pictures. The television is telling us that we’re leaving, but that’s not happening!

 

 

On the contrary, here is our B2B information…..

 

 

A little after 6am we enter the channel. Patti heads out to the Havana Area to take some pictures. There’s the Mardi Gras…..

 

 

Here are some more early morning pictures as we head to our berth…..

 

 

 

 

 

 

We sail past the Norwegian Jade and the Disney Fantasy…..

 

 

 

 

 

We are the last ship to enter the port and we docked just before 7am, which is pretty late. That might have had something to do with today’s B2B experience which we’ll talk about later.

At 7am I made my way to the Ocean Plaza to get my morning coffee from Setyo. I met Beth & Mark there and we chatted for a while. In the meantime, Patti is out and about taking pictures. The alcoholic beverage pick up is happening in the Horizons Restaurant…..

I would say that’s unusual though. I have only seen the Halloween theme on the October Panorama cruise we were on. And I’ve only seen the Christmas ones on the December Vista cruise I was on.
