FishTastic Posted May 21 #1 Share Posted May 21 My husband used a CPAP. On the long and VERY helpful CPAP thread several people mentioned using extension cords. Are we allowed to bring from home? Are there rules on those? Or is this something you borrow from the ship?
mtnesterz Posted May 21 #2 Share Posted May 21 (edited) Yes, you can borrow one from the ship. Cannot bring one onboard with a circuit breaker. We just completed a cruise on a Royal Class ship, a USA 110V plug was at the desk adjacent to the bed, so a standard six foot cord that comes with any unit would be more than enough. 555 Posted May 21 #3 Share Posted May 21 We always pack a light weight one & never had any problems with security.
Rare LACruiser88 Posted May 21 #4 Share Posted May 21 This is the one we always bring along with no issues.
mtnesterz Posted May 21 #5 Share Posted May 21 Posting to correct my post as it is too late to edit it. I typed circuit breaker. After reading @LACruiser88, I am reminded it a surge protector feature that is not allowed onboard.
Rare Rick&Jeannie Posted May 21 #6 Share Posted May 21 I have a "plain" 2 conductor 10 foot cord that I keep in my CPAP bag. I've never been questioned about it. I think I picked it up at Ace Hardware...
Mark_K Posted May 21 #7 Share Posted May 21 We’re going to be in one of the forward facing starboard suites on Regal Princess. My wife sleeps on the side of the bed opposite from the desk. As far as I can tell, unless we can access the light outlet, we’re going to need a really long extension cord. Or perhaps a somewhat shorter one if the tv outlet is accessible. Has anyone had experience with this?
kywildcatfanone Posted May 21 #8 Share Posted May 21 I bring an extension cord, but many ships have outlets you can use behind the bed with a European adapter.
Rare Rick&Jeannie Posted May 22 #9 Share Posted May 22 There's almost always an outlet behind the bed. European style 2 prong 220 volt.
