Ocean Now Question

We've had excellent service with OceanNow delivery. 32 days on Sapphire Princess, every single food order came within 15 minutes. Drinks less than 10.

Must be nice! I love the concept if it were actually working. My Enchanted Princess experience just resulted in lots of undue frustration. I've fetched my own drinks on every other cruise I've been on contentedly. The thing that sucks about ordering through OceanNow and never receiving your order is you feel 'trapped" and don't even have the option to just go get your own drink if you get tired of waiting, because you feel like you need to stay put in case your order actually arrives.

Many of the reasons that I hardly ever use the service   I walk up to a bar and order a drink and there are tons of places to walk up and get food on all ships

OceanNow is your only option once bars close in the wee hours. In those cases, at least on my Enchanted sailing last month, it worked very well....and yeah, I definitely tipped the delivery person.

Interesting...I've had very good luck using this feature ever since it first rolled out.  (Well, one cruise a couple years ago we ordered something and it finally said "delivered".  Obviously it had not.  We just ordered again.)

By and large, this has been one of the things that has "just worked" for us on every cruise.  It's a good idea to "help them" somewhat, though!  After a few minutes, start watching around your area (especially if you are out on the crowded Lido deck) to see if you see someone carrying a tray with what might be your order.  There is (or used to be on the old app) a function on your order status page to press a button and your entire phone screen would turn a color.  The idea was to then hold your phone up in the air so that delivery people could see it.  I've only done that once...it just didn't seem necessary and I've never seen anybody else do it.  I just keep an eye out for delivery people.

On the Enchanted the only thing we used the Ocean Now app for was to order desserts when we were at the buffet. I had to remember to put my order in as soon as we arrived otherwise it would never arrive at the end or lunch or dinner.

It was a standing joke for the head waiter since he would get my order for me many times.

How late are you talking ?  The casino bar and Crooners are usually open well after midnight and I always get a double Sambucca on my way back to the cabin

Late.  1am+ .  When you have a group that wants to hang and party, you lose track of time...

My orders all just got stuck eternally in "preparing", so they never even got to the stage where they attempted to deliver them. Trust and belive, I kept an eye out for servers who might be carrying my order every time (except the times I tried to order an extra towel for my stateroom).

Just got off Crown. OceanNow worked ok from a tech standpoint but had some quirks.

I ordered a beer that got cancelled after 15 minutes because the bar that had that beer was closed, but I only found out after getting impatient and checking the app.

We ordered fries at like 9pm? And they were the softest steamed French fries ever, lol

We usually waited 20-30 minutes for drinks, wether it was busy or not.

One time when it was busy we cancelled our food order after 30 minutes and got other food, our food order showed up about 20 minutes after that, so we had 2 dinners.

Overall the execution feels like it's lacking a little bit, the medallion show your location in the ship so why the staff has to look through a whole venue to find me is kinda silly.

There's no specific kitchen for ocean now so if the venues are busy ocean now backs up, which has the unfortunate side effect of slowing down busy venues too.

Ymmv, it wasn't a waste of time but could have been done better.
