WiFi Reception in South Pacific Islands Cruise

Need feedback about wifi reception in South Pacific. Doing the 51 day South Pacific cruise on Zandam at end of September. Many thanks in advance.

We did Sydney to Vancouver in April on Noordam and the internet(starlink) was excellent.   Zandam also has Starlink.  We had Premium package and had no problem streaming.  We were able to watch Prime videos and Apollo.  However you would need the highest Internet package to use Netflix

With Starlink it is a different , elevated experience but there will be spots that are a problem.  We had some slowness but it never lasted very long.

On Koningsdam, there were areas near French Polynesia that were a bit spotty. I could not upload video to social media for most of the entire trip and facetime was glitchy. Cruise critic was gave was especially slow loading photos.

 

But with starlink I was never without internet access for very long and I'd rank the internet a solid 9 when compared to days gone past. If you need to stream into meetings that might be a challenge, but for most usage it was just fine.

On the Volendam in 2023 on the Tales of the South Pacific, the WIFI was wonderful. I was able to FaceTime with our grands when we were in Tonga and scenic cruising the Cook Islands. The year before was a nightmare!! Starlink made all the difference.

Wi-fi will be fine at all times.  Internet access, however, is a different story, as noted above.  Sorry, couldn't resist.😄
