TxTeach79's Pearl European Adventure LIVE - 6/24

Recommended Posts

We made it! All checked in - room isn’t quite ready, but should be shortly. We aren’t going far, just sitting here in the lobby bar trying not to fall asleep.

Glad y'all made it safely with luggage. I've heard so many folks complain about CDG, never been through there but I have avoided it while overseas so far. Hotel looks swanky!

Captain says we have nine pieces onboard that belong to passengers who didn’t show, so by law we have to remove them. Should be a 10-15 minute delay.

I wonder why they did not show. Maybe it was the outrageous transfer to the 2nd plane.

NEVER connect through CDG!!!

Prosecco Road is also a thing! My sister lives an hour north of Venice, Prosecco Road is literally a super hilly road up the mountain where all the vineyards are. There are trails you can hike and Prosecco and charcuterie vending machines along the way.

Ahhhh classic French cheese from… Wisconsin. (The flight attendant said food is way better flying FROM France. He’s also biased.)

You may not have had the finest example, but I'd say Wisconsin cheeses by far outpace the French these days, Then again, I may be biased as well. 🙂

I think she had it with me and moved up to the aisle seat in front of me. Can’t blame her really.

$20 if you use the bidet and report out on the experience (photos not necessary).

Glad you made your connection and that your luggage arrived! My experience through CDG in November was different. Although my TA kept insisting an hour and 20 minutes was enough for my connection at CDG, it wasn’t. Walk through terminal E, walk through terminal F, go through security, go through passport control (all long lines), get on a bus to terminal G, get to our gate—we missed it. CDG is chaos. We were supposed to arrive in Porto, Portugal at 10:30 am. By the time another connection was added at Lisbon, we arrived at 7:30 that evening. Without our luggage. Fortunately we had our carryons.

That was an amazing nap. Still ultra groggy. Lowest the AC goes is 71 F, but that’s just Europe. It works well enough. No idea where we go from here. It’s pushing noon back home, I’m still loopy.

We have done it three times, yes, a walk but watch YouTube and follow the signs, most importantly have a decent layover, for me, that means minimum three hours. Once, it was ten.  We were business class and spending the day in the lounges was great

What were your thoughts on the exit row seats?  Leg room yes but when you had food and tried watching something?  And no where to store anything?

We did one that was A had nothing in front of it then B&C had the 2 exit row seats.  Yeah my DH drove me insane as he had leg room sitting in A and I had all his crap with me in B.

Yeah I’ve heard good things about the lounges there. Wish we’d had time.

Layover at CDG is a little over 2 hours going home, so longer than today. Hopefully we work it out again, but I’ll be less panicked about getting somewhere on time headed home 🤷🏻‍♂️
