ULCajunCruiser Posted June 15 #1 Share Posted June 15 Sailing on Liberty out of New Orleans on July 14th. I tried to add a person to a balcony cabin that currently only has 1 person staying in it and I was denied. Was told the ship was at maximum capacity and even though there was room in the cabin, there wasn't room on the ship!!! Anyone experience this before?? Rare shof515 Posted June 15 #2 Share Posted June 15 yes this normal. the muster station group your cabin is in, is at full capacity. this will prevent you from adding people to your room

Old Fart Cruisers Posted June 15 #4 Share Posted June 15 You can keep trying to add another person. The numbers can fluctuate as it gets closer to sailing. Maybe you will get lucky.
mz-s Posted June 15 #5 Share Posted June 15 100% capacity is based upon two per stateroom. Ships can safely sail with over 100% capacity, but there is a limit. Many staterooms can accommodate 3 or more. So if a lot of staterooms have 3 or 4, the ship can be full even with only 1 in your room.

It depends on the deadline for the ship to turn in a passenger manifest. But the day before should still be possible, if the cruise line allows.

The closest I've heard about is RCI, I believe, that allows bookings the afternoon before. Has to be done by phone, not online, and most certainly not at the port, despite what some think. 4

I booked a cruise in May at 7 pm that boarded the next morning. I got home from work. Threw all my stuff together in two hours, went to bed, woke up and headed to the port. 😆
