Upgrade worth it on oasis??

Hi all, 

 

I think I know the answer, but just curious for others thoughts..

 

We originally qualified for a comped junior suite on a 3 day sailing on oasis in November. I paid a whopping $50 total for the two of us to upgrade to a grand suite on deck 10, because obviously lol. 

 

Fast forward and I now have the ability to upgrade to a crown loft suite for an extra $120 a person on deck 17 (ocean facing). That's worth it and a crazy good deal, right? Even though it's only a 3 day sailing. We've never stayed in a crown loft before. 

 

Below are the cabins still available so I'm thinking 1750 or 1748 are best unless I'm missing something?

$340 out of pocket to get to a CLS, sure why not, especially if you've never done one before.

I would grab the grand suite, I hate stairs , we had a grand suite on oasis before covid and price kept going down so was able to get owners suite for original price of grand suite.

The stairs are a turn off for some but it is nice being on the same level as CK and the Suite Lounge. Only bummer is that you can only use the aft elevators to get to your room.

I would absolutely do the CLS.  Two bathrooms, even with only two people, is a definite plus!

$120pp = $240.  He already paid the $50/cabin to upgrade to GS, so that is a sunken cost.

Is there a cls that's better than the others that are available, other than the fact facing the ocean vs basketball court?

Now the decision to not tell my wife and surprise her once we board, or just tell her now. Even when I tell her the room number on boarding day, she won't think anything of it as she'll think we're still just in the junior suite.

Definitely don't choose any CLS overlooking the courts. You will have absolutely NO privacy, and a lot of noise. 1744 through 1752 are all great suites. Anything forward of those and the balcony starts to shrink and become a bit pie shaped.

Just remember that once you surprise her, you are doomed to book only suites for the rest of your life😇

Thankfully she knows we only sail on cruises we can get comped from the casino, so we've done everything from interiors to suites, but this will be our first in a cls.

That was my fear too... While DW loved our CLS she is thriftier than I am so she always wants the most frugal way to do things.  As long as I throw the odd suite experience into the mix she's happy with balcony cabins.  😓

DW said she would be happy in balcony cabins as well. Then we did 28 nights in a balcony on Serenade and she decided she really didn’t want to book any more balconies if we were doing more than a week long cruise. Since we always do B2B or longer cruises, I only book GS now.😇
