mjayp Posted July 7 #1 Share Posted July 7 Hello - sorry if this has been answered elsewhere, I could not find if so. Can we combine our soda allotment in a single carry-on? In other words, if we have two people in our party, can we bring 24 sodas in a single bag, or do we need two separate bags with 12?
Rare Ferry_Watcher Posted July 7 #2 Share Posted July 7 At least in Seattle, it doesn't matter how much soda one person carries. Just remember that the soda has to be in cans - no plastic bottles are allowed (soda or water). 2
teknoge3k Posted July 7 #3 Share Posted July 7 You can combine them. I usually carry on 2 cases (2 24pks).
Purvis1231 Posted July 7 #4 Share Posted July 7 We throw a variety of cans in a bag.
cruisehappyinJune Posted July 8 #5 Share Posted July 8 I’ve never tried the soda, but with our wine allotment I have combined my and my partner’s into my bag. He may have also combined our allotment into his bag 🫣 No one seemed concerned! 1
mz-s Posted July 8 #6 Share Posted July 8 Gives me an idea for the next cruise. I carry on 2 12-packs together "for me and my wife" and my wife does the same. I don't really drink much soda, 1 a day at most, so it doesn't really make sense for me to do that, but I guarantee it would work.
CookieShip Posted July 10 #7 Share Posted July 10 Can combine, we were a party of 4 so I put 48 cans in a carry on roller bag. They never asked to see the inside of it, could of had beer in there, lol.
Babyfin Posted July 10 #8 Share Posted July 10 For anyone that cares, We have the 36 can backpack from sams and we always put everything in there and its easier to manage.
Bigeee67 Posted July 10 #9 Share Posted July 10 I carry a small roll of packaging tape in my carry on to tape shut the boxes after security has opened them for their check. I once had flimsy boxes after opening and the cans spilt out all over the place. Not fun picking them up off the floor.
Rollin Tide Posted July 10 #10 Share Posted July 10 In my experience, we've been able to.....most of the time. Seems like it may be up to the Port/Terminal. In Port Canaveral and Miami, we were. In Jacksonville we were not. In Galveston, the first time we were there we were not, then the next time we were able to. So I'd say just be prepared if possible to carry in 2 bags, just in case. These days I just prepare for the 'whatever' to happen, as long as it's rule I can abide by and get on the ship, I'm with it!
john91498 Posted July 10 #11 Share Posted July 10 Out of Long Beach, we were able to combine the sodas and the wine. No one cared.
Are.we.there.yet? Posted July 10 #12 Share Posted July 10 As an observation, it can vary by your age. They sweat the younger passengers more. Hubby and I could walk in with the Costco store and no bother. Our kids get checked sometimes.
Joebucks Posted July 10 #13 Share Posted July 10 You can really do whatever you want, as long as you're carrying them. They might get inspected, but it's no big deal. I used to think I wanted to find ways to carry on as many as possible. In reality, I've found we're generally good with a 6 pack or so.
