Today is the last sea day as we sail back to Cape Liberty, NJ. We had very calm seas and beautiful weather sailing down to Bermuda. Then we were blessed with 3 days of gorgeous sunny 85 degree weather while in Bermuda. We did the Hot Glass class on day 2 and we definitely recommend it. We made a lovely jellyfish and a paperweight. I recommend going up to the Hot Glass studio on deck 15 right before their 4pm demonstration on sail away day to book your time slot. On the first day in Bermuda we took the ferry to St. George and visited Crystal Caves, Tobacco Bay, Unfinished Church, Kings Square, etc. The second day in Bermuda we took the #7 bus to the Gibbs Lighthouse and Horseshoe Bay Beach, then we took a minivan back to the Dockyard. On the third day we took the ferry to Hamilton. The nightly shows have been pretty good, especially Rock City. Here are some pics. 20240709_165143.mp4

amevola Posted July 13 #3 Share Posted July 13 I have to tell you that these pictures are some of the best I have seen on the boards! I have been to Bermuda four times on cruises (just last month was our most recent trip), and you have me wanting to go back again! Thank you for posting them!

fair-winds39 Posted July 14 #8 Share Posted July 14 Beautiful photos. Bermuda is definitely Another World!! We will board the Eclipse in a few weeks. It will be my 18th visit to Bermuda. Although there have been many changes since my first visit, it’s still remains top on my list of places to visit. Thanks for posting and getting me more excited for our upcoming cruise.

catspaw1 Posted July 14 #12 Share Posted July 14 we were on the same cruise & had a fabulous time. The food was great & all workers were friendly. Our cabin steward was fantastic. We ate in Murano one night & my husband said it was one of the best meals we ever had - fantastic food & service. Ship was very crowded & you couldn't get a lounge chair unless you went at 5am! We lived the ship but it definitely needs some TLC. This did not distract us from having a great time. We always love Bermuda. We haven't taken a summer vacation in years as we usually do the off season & we learned we will never do the summer again. Too hot, & too crowded. We are already planning on another trip this fall.

pattycake08 Posted July 24 #14 Share Posted July 24 WTang, what gorgeous pictures you took. The best I've ever seen on these boards. Did you take them from a Camera or your phone, just curious. You mentioned the The Hot Glass Class, do you recall what the cost was & can you only sign up while on the ship?
catspaw1 Posted July 24 #15 Share Posted July 24 They had a demo at 4pm during sail away time that you could sign up for classes then. I walked by it numerous times during the cruise & they always seem to have guests participating in the glass blowing.

I took these photos on my Samsung Galaxy S20 phone. I brought my camera but didn't use it much. The Hot Glass glass costs $120 per person if you sign up onboard but you get a discount if you purchase online or over the phone before the cruise. Oceangoer2 Posted July 24 #17 Share Posted July 24 Thank you for the lovely pics and insight into Bermuda. In all our cruises this is one port we missed but look forward to visiting. Ship looks in pretty good condition, but the 'down' pic of the library chairs had me wondering.... Are they dirty or damaged? We're on her in Nov....5 cruises with her but last was in 2017. What was the condition of your cabin and balcony. Dining room?

As for the ship, I was a little concerned about her condition pre cruise also because I've read some critical reviews and I know she's due for a refurbishment in early 2025. But in all honesty, I thought she was in great shape. My wife and daughter borrowed some books from the library and they were all in good condition. My cabin was in such good condition I thought maybe it was already refurbished... nothing damaged, no nicks or scratches on the furniture, bathroom clean, nothing loose or rusted. The MDR also looked to be in very nice shape. The only signs of wear and tear I noticed were the seats in the theater and the windows in the Sky Lounge. The fabric on the seat backs was wearing thin and a few of the forward facing windows in the Sky Lounge were fogged. I've also read she may be in sad, worn down shape.....to be expected with age.

Great to hear about the Samsung phone camera..We use Samsung (android) phone, tabs and lap tops but sometimes my hus still drags a real camera/ lense set up..really no need! We are booked on Eclipse for a 2026(?) Carib cruise, and I will def pre book the Hot Glass experience. We have observed but never made anything. We might do Bermuda again esp on an S Class ship....it's one of the best places to visit.. but we hate the dticw to port from LI NY...maybe car service or limos will go there now,,? Thanks again for a wonderful review!
catspaw1 Posted July 26 #21 Share Posted July 26 We were on that sailing also. Our balcony cabin was in good shape but the balcony needs to be repainted & the curtian to the balcony had significant holes. Cabin in good shape & bed comfortable. Chairs in dining room need to be replaced as significant wear. Seats in theatre were really bad & worn down. However we still loved the ship, the cruise & had a fabulous time. Bayonne is an easy port to sail out of. We have been to Bermuda before by cruise ship. We also sailed our own boat there once & stayed a month. Love Bermuda! However, both horseshoe bay & tobacco beach were extremely overcrowded since there was 2 cruise ships in Port. I've never seen the beaches that crowded & I hated it. There was little room to put out a beach towel as both beaches were crowded with lounge chairs! I brought my own helinox chair & was glad I did.
