Area on Sapphire Princess

There is a  smoking area on the prom deck starboard aft with a couple of benches where smokers come and go....not a big deal except for the cigar suckers as that smoke just flat out stinks and seems to linger on the back end much more than cigarette smoke.

Ughhh Hopefully that smell doesn’t linger or rise too high. Thank you for the warning!

i walked it every day several laps...depends on the wind but most days if you walk by fairly quickly it is not great but doesn't linger too long though there were a few days when it was not great...the cig smoke did seem to dissipate lot quicker but there was one guy who must have searched long and hard to find the most disgusting smelling cigars ever and it was sure his go to place.

Does anyone know how noisy the passageway is? Is it intolerable for the cabins around or do people generally not notice?

You will not even know the stairs are there. Not really used very much. Crew use the crew elevators mostly.

Your deck is two decks above the small outside smoking area on deck 7 located where the promenade narrows to go around the aft of the ship.

Can anyone tell me what this blank area is on the Sapphire Princess? Is it a smoking area or a public viewing area?

I’ve stayed in D736 for 11 days and D739 for 16 days. No noise at all from that crew access area. No smell of smoke from the promenade starboard smoking area.  I never saw anyone smoking cigars in that area (I sailed another 34 days in an emerald deck mini suite) in all those days on Sapphire. This was in 2022-2024.

Posted (edited)

It is crew access, staircase. It is not loud at all.

When my Mom had a Seeing Eye dog, that is the area where we would take her to do her business.
