Rare ORV Posted July 24 #5 Share Posted July 24 How many times do we have to do this? It's what the founder of the company said it is. 3

Preferably without getting snide responses. I have absolutely no idea how the company's founder pronounces it. I've heard several pronunciations whilst onboard - including babysteps' interpretation at #3 which is how I've always said it. Flatbush Flyer Posted July 24 #7 Share Posted July 24 It’s easy enough to find out how O’s founder, FDR (Senior), pronounces his baby’s name. There’s many videos on the web in which he can be clearly heard saying “oh she ahn na.” Same goes for other PR stuff we’ve seen over the years from O originals like Bob Binder, Leslie John…. That said, I do seem to remember hearing Junior recently add the “ee” in his pronunciation. Maybe it’s part of the numerous not-so-subtle O tweaks we’ve been seeing lately.

First they remove the poppy seeds from the multi-seeded rolls and then get rid of the ebi for sushi. And now, they may be sneaking in the “ee?” What’s next? skoeper Posted July 24 Author #14 Share Posted July 24 OP here. I'm sorry if I stirred up anything, lol. TBH, hubby and I have just now learned about Oceania. We've been cruising for many years, mostly on Celebrity, RCCI, Princess, and a few other smaller ones. We watched a youtube video about the Sirena and looked at each other and said "this might be really interesting!". So we'd bring up the topic every couple days and not know how to say the name, lol. It's been "Ocean ee a, I mean.....O see an ee ah....or geez, IDK how to say it!". So I thought I'd come here and ask the experts! It seems each expert says it the way they want to so we can quit stuttering and sputtering every time we discuss a cruise with this cruise line. 🤪 I hope it's a good choice! Lobster every night in the buffet sounds AWESOME!! 3

That will put a serious dent in my relationship with O. Senior needs to have a word or two with Junior about the preferences of the O regulars (who are still alive and kicking). 1

FDR s enjoying his retirement and not at all involved with the cruise lines..(I also am hoping for that to change) Jancruz1
