Latest disembarkation time

In general, they post in the disembarkation info that everyone is supposed to be out of their cabins by 8:30.  Not necessarily off the ship.  I believe that would likely be around 9:30-10:00.

Clear cabin by 8am. You shouldn't linger much longer than that. Cabins have to be turned around for embarking passengers. Last debark call normally around 9:30am. Ship must be totally cleared of passengers before any new passengers can board. DR open for breakfast usually from 6am to around 8:30.

@D1324tt just curious why you want to know? you will get disembarkation and luggage tag information a few days before you disembark and it’ll give you all the information you need to know about your particular ship. All the answers that have been given seem to be spot on. But it does vary ship to ship. This is an example of the sky princess. But yes, they want to get everyone Off as soon as humanly possible.IMG_1084.thumb.jpeg.382c82ae7997a3c18ac0e21f47e07170.jpeg

And since it's Seattle, even those passengers who are continuing must do the "In Transit Tango" which usually means getting off the ship. Sometimes immigration will come on board and check everyone but not usually.

In the past we have been able to just “tap off tap on” in many ports on board the ship. It just depends on what customs regulations are on a given cruise.

We prefer to leave our cabin as late as possible and make sure that's OK with our Steward, Why? because we'd rather bypass the hordes bailing off as soon as the flood gates open. We usually don't book a flight right out as we hate a stressed out travel day. Of course we get off before last call, just don't like to hang out in crowded lounges or long lines.

With all due respect, of course your steward is going to say “OK”. They are trained to accommodate passengers and will comply with their requests. But ultimately when you don’t leave by the requested time of 8:30 am, you are making their job harder. Turn around cleaning is much more intense and time consuming then daily cabin refresh. It takes a long time and they have a lot of cabins. Imagine if they had a bunch of people making similar requests? As it is, they probably end up having to clean your cabin last and it messes up their schedule.

These employees work so hard already and have so many rooms to clean, I just think it is common courtesy to comply with the time schedule and not make their job harder. It’s not hard to find a lounge to wait comfortably if need be.

Thanks for the replies. The reason for the question we are having friends picking us up and I'm hoping they can avoid morning rush hour by getting to the pier a little later in the morning.

Any chance you could do early walk off? That’s what we usually do and it definitely gets you out in front of the crowds. On our recent Sky cruise we walked off the ship just a few minutes after 7 and were in our car service by 7:30. It was a breeze.

Please don't do this. If you must, hang out on deck, piazza, lounge, anywhere but your cabin. There's many places you can go without a crowd.

Compared to embarkation (In most cases) I find disembarkation a bit fraught and quite frankly not a pleasant experience. It's the whole thing really. The stampede to get off, the searching for luggage and then trying to keep cases from falling off the trolleys to go through customs. Added to this you seem to have to walk miles to get to the luggage hall, whereas on embarkation it seems half the distance and much easier and quicker. Maybe and hopefully easier this year as we have a courier picking up our luggage, where upon we will get a taxi to the railway station and a train home instead of the usual uncomfortable coach which goes all around the houses to get to our drop off point which is still 45 minutes from home. This is where a neighbour picks us up and takes us home.

I didn't say we stayed PAST the requested time, but stayed as long as possible. Go ahead and read between the lines anyway you feel you'd like.

@D1324tt got it on friends picking you up from pier, just vacate cabin when requested on your disembarkation instructions, go to buffet or DR before they close, then go to your meeting spot to disembark and hopefully that will be plenty of time for traffic to slow down ?? for your friends to pick you up and if not, find a bench outside of the terminal after you collect your luggage.
