Dinner in MDR.

We have not dined here since CK was established on Oasis/quantum class. And this is our first time back on a Freedom class.

I'll be interested to know how it is for you being back on an F class ship. It has been awhile since I've sailed anything besides O and Q class. I have Freedom booked for March.

I am not sure if I posted the above earlier in the thread or not.

I am the same.  Have not cruised on Q class but multiple times on O class.  Last Freedom class was several years ago.  Cruising on Liberty in Oct 2025.

Being a chatterbox and not being able to log onto the internet let alone CC was frustrating.

I had some updates and hope I can remember them all.

Service bad.

To begin with I am amazed on some of the rudeness and entitlement exhibited by some.

Take for example dining in the MDR.
I observed a man not (gentleman) find his table did not like. Picked up the number plaque and switched it to the  table he wanted.

Or totally take 15 min and tie up the matte d because you didn’t reserve your table.   It’s her fault because his family did not have a spot.
But.
He would take that table.
She tried to tell him it was for another family.
This went on and on.

The next observation.

Wait  in line (ha ha)

Just walk right on by don’t even think about waiting your turn.

But the best is we are all gonna get where we go eventually.
Please don’t bump push.

The parents should take manners from the children. The few on board so far are well behaved.

Well comparing Freedom to oasis class.

Overall size seems large actually to me no difference.
I miss CK.
First night food in MDR ——-well really changed. I’ll adress this later.

Luggage arrived after 5:30.
Surprised by this.
We have always gotten it by 3 on Allure.

Let’s talk casino.

Drum roll

Well

I did not smell smoke

Smaller

Some older machines

Waiters bar service good.

So I played.
I won.

😁

First tax form.

We had a time change.
Fall back.

Breakfast now.

Later.

So far. So good.
Status quo.

Off to pool. Here it’s 9:14am.
DST. 9;14.

Not photographing till later.

Be safe.

Some people can be real jerks.

And while I don’t know the exact circumstances of the above person I do know when I have made reservations in the MDR for the same table and wait staff the dining room manager has told us to bypass the line and walk straight to the second Maitre-d stand and check in there. On our last cruise the dinning room manager put us at a table where he told us no need to check in just go directly to your table at your reservation time. I am every ship and dining room managers are different.

we were told to go directly to our table if we knew it.
He went to his table.
Did not like.
Took it upon himself to change the card table number.

And the man who was blaming Maitre D

For his mistake to not pick a dining time pre cruise.
He would not let it go.

The waiting in line was in venues on the PROMENADE Not MDR.

byeeeee

@Lionesss..you are so spot on regarding "sense of entitlement" with folks in today's society.

We have noticed that during our working gig this summer.  It is off the charts and very disturbing.

Many folks have become so pushy and demanding if they do not get what they want it makes me often rethink if I even want to do this type of work anymore.  Very discouraging.

I feel for the staff and other guest on the ship.

Enjoy your day!

On most of our cruises, either the Maitre-d, or our Waiter has told us to just go right to our table.

Same with us.  We always check the location of our table on boarding day, and talk to the Maitre-d.  if we are satisfied, they tell us to go right to our table that evening.  If we are not satisfied, they say we need to go there the first night, and tell us they will change it starting on the second night.

MDR for dinner.

We were seated at  a table for 2 by the window.  Very happy with arrangement.

The waiter and his assistant introduced themselves and asked if we had any requests or needs.

IMG_1799.thumb.jpeg.2720a258c624ed43c3bacba4d83ee335.jpeg

Besides asking for calorie free food we requested no added salt.

When  we selected our dinner off the menu we gave the order to them.
Including dessert.

In less than 5 minutes we had our appetizers.
If you ordered 2. They came back to back.
Note;

Shrimp cocktail not on menu every day.

Portions were smaller than CK.
Food was presented very hot not just the plates.
Bread delicious as always.

Dining hall was very clean. So clean a spider was on the ceiling, just hanging out.

We were ok with everything but missed CK.

We do not do specialty dining.
We said we made arrangements when constantly being asked to buy a 3 day dining experience.
For others who asked us about doing specialty dining—-

We just said thanks for offering. And just let it go at that.

I re do not know how they decide to use the empty tables in 5:15 seating.
yesterday and today there were at least 1/3 off tables remained empty.

I thought families with kids would want early seating.
I betcha some would want a guaranteed time.

Total time always less than 45 minutes.

Be safe.
