True..but that’s too much heartbreak to have that many to lose 😞

Right before the wife and I got married we had to put down her cat; it was a very hard day for me and I had only been with that cat a year.

I’ve been with Bailey for 8 now (we adopted him from the wife’s sister when they moved and couldn’t take him with them; he was our fur-nephew and became our fur-child), and without him I don’t know what I’d of done these past six months…IMG_0263.thumb.jpeg.b75687b02e842e6ea6794e1c0e731837.jpeg

Glad you have Bailey. Nothing like a sweet perfect kitty to give the world meaning and sanity when things otherwise don’t seem to make sense or matter anymore.

Or someone to talk to, when there is no one else.

And that’s it folks. I’m off the ship.
Walking at a literal snails pace; from lido (taking the stairs, slower than a slinky) it took me 20 minutes to get off the ship, find my luggage in Zone 3, repack a few things into (last day items), and go through immigration.

This could have honestly been done in half the time..but my shuttle doesn’t get here till 10:30 and my flight isn’t until 3:10…so I am in ABSOLUTELY no rush today.

Looking back, I’m glad I had the gambling experience I did; it was very cathartic to be down more than I ever have been…make a deal with the big man, and have the biggest comeback I ever had…now it’s just up to me to fulfill my part of the deal; which I gladly will considering he fulfilled his.

I earned a “ComeBackSoon” offer of a Free Suite + DOU-E for two. (As expected)

I need to look really hard on what ship I want to use it on, it’ll probably be February that I use it.
I really want to go to new ports; but the ports I want to go to (Grand Cayman, Ocho Rios) only come on a 6-day..and I can’t even imagine all the ignorant folks that take that run.

PLUS that’s only on the Freedom class I believe…I really like the Excel class (so many dining options!) But even the Excel class with all her dining choices; still suffers from Carnivals problem of “gaps” where absolutely no food is available (other than pizza)

On a 6 night cruise, you will find the same "ignorant folks" that you find on a 7 night cruise.🙄

Damn; I just looked at the “Ocean Suite” on the Excel class…it’s literally no different than a normal balcony! Just a tiny bit longer of a room! Haha

Guess I’ll be in no rush to book that one; maybe I’ll look into a ratchet cruise out of NoLa (only ship that goes to Grand Cayman)

And apparently and 8 night cruise too..putting four in an interior only makes it like $25 a day per person.

shoot I can get that in my collection cup every day!

I think Virgin would be the best cruise line for you. 😎

I don’t. I looked at it and a lot of video’s; that’s definitely not my style. (I’m not “hip and cool”)

I actually just found a princess run to Grand Cayman in February, so that’s perfect!

But there is no "cross-over" benefit to sailing on Princess - especially if you have a free suite and douao for 2 on CCL.  Am I wrong?

The number of blue cruisers on all cruise lines contributes greatly to the fully booked ships and high prices. I have been wondering how many of them will enjoy it enough to cruise again, and how many will be done after their first cruise?  And, what will happen to the current pricing when the number of blue cruisers dwindles?

Wow.  what a comment...

I would bet Blue cruisers probably pay more since they don't know the ins and outs of how to get the best price. They are probably subsidizing the low prices that experienced cruisers get on their trips. What I learned from living in different areas of the country is to appreciate people's differences and enjoy their company.

Safe travels home. Hope you have continued success with your health improvement, physical and emotional. Cats are among life’s greatest gifts.

Thank you! I’ll be posting in the princess cruise forum in two weeks for my Norway cruise.

hopefully once the swelling goes down this week, I didn’t gain weight this week.

So the entire ship is in an uproar; because at 1:30am last night, the ships general alarm went off..

90% of ship is blue cruisers...

ton of blue cruisers complaining about all the fights on this ship.

JMHO, but people should take their blue cruise on a 3-4 day, to realize, they hate cruising....

blue cruisers, are people who’s Matriach/Patriarch of the family paid for their entire family to come with them and so these bluey’s are just along for the ride.

When I have priced cruises, it seems like Carnival prices are usually cheaper than other cruise lines. Perhaps you, like the "blue cruisers" you are discussing are also choosing this cruise line to save some money.

As for the fights, anyone doing any tiny amount of research would learn that Carnival is frequently in the news for having fights onboard.  Your choice to sail on a cheaper line in which fights are more likely to break-out is on you.

Give Bailey an ear scratch. Hopefully the next time we “see” you you’ll be even thinner. Best wishes and safe travels home.

Thanks, I will. I’m sure he’s upset that Dad was gone so long.

The fights never bother me, as I’m not around them.

On the other hand, these same people are elsewhere on the ship being ignorant. (And clogging up stairways when I’m trying to go up and down them)

That comment was not intended to be derogatory, it was simply my theory on the cause of the rapid rise in cruise prices. I agree that the blue cruisers do not know how to find the best prices, but most experienced cruisers (with the exception of casino players who receive lower casino fares) are certainly not finding subsidized prices.  They are paying higher prices than they have in the past.

I 100% agree.

A blue cruiser or a Diamond cruiser is going to pay the same price. (Casino players excluded)…carnival simply doesn’t give discounts for repeat customers.

We are in agreement that the demand for cruises and travel has resulted in price increases.  This is per the economic rule of supply and demand. However, I don't agree with your analysis in how that is applied.  Firstly, there is an increase in demand because a large portion of our population- Baby Boomers, are all retiring at about the same time.  Baby Boomers are putting a strain on multiple parts of our economy.  Secondly, there is a shortage of supply in that the number of workers (the labor that is part of the supply equation) as a proportion to the those who are retiring is dwindling.  The only way to prevent inflation now and in the future is to increase the supply of workers and that would mean increasing the birth rate.  Reducing "blue cruisers" or likewise expecting a change of political leaders is not going to change the diminishing birth rate. As long as we have a low birth rate, we are going to have a shortage of supply in proportion to demand.
