Welcome to Kusadasi

The fake capital of Turkey 🇹🇷🤭

 

Charlotte wanted to get a bag or two😅 from the real fake shopping street…

 

We started our day at Captain’s club breakfast in Tuscan. 

 

I was very happy to see some nice options on the menu. They are new compared to May and July sailing. Yoghurt parfait and overnight muesli🙂

 

We had juice, coffee, salmon and muesli. 

 

 

All very peaceful and delicious 😋

After breakfast…. It’s was time…. Time to walk to the shopping area of genuine fake bags, clothes and watches😆 

 

Before our shopping trip started, I said we needed to visit the fortress Island… (I know this girl…. It takes forever AND plenty of patience to go shopping with her😂😅😝) 

 

So we walked over to the fortress and took some pictures. 

 

 

 

 

 

Then we walked back to the grand bazaar and the shopping area…. 

Charlotte started her viewing session for what she wanted…. 

We went from store to store……

 

 

Then at one store they had several items and they were not pushing, so she would have time to touch, see and decide…. (Do you know that type? You all know this is a very slow process and it takes time…😜) so I just waited around as she looked for the model she wanted, the correct colour and brand…. 

After a long hour she was ready to start the haggling process😅😆 (jepp, my uncle send me condolences for bearing over this shopping trip😂😂) 

 

After a haggling session, she bought 2 ladies bags 💼.

She was happy, I was happy and the salesman was not to happy 😆 

 

After finishing the “plan” for today, we walked along the ocean promenade. 

 

 

Charlotte was ready for lunch… 

And she had completed today’s mission…

 

So back to the ship we went for lunch around 14.00. 

 

Charlotte found some food from the daily market. The theme was Mediterranean food. 

 

 

I went for my go to salad 🥗 

For dessert Charlotte wanted ice cream. She was hoping for the coffee ice cream from the lava cake..😇 

She was happy happy to get coffee flavoured and lemon sorbet 🍧

So it’s time for a little introduction of Charlotte! 

She is my “little” cousin…

So I used to babysit her and have her some days now and then during schools holidays. When it fitted my schedule and my uncle needed a babysitter😝 so they could go to work😅

 

So I have had her on several “cruises” to Kiel. Trips to Copenhagen, Stockholm and to northern Norway. 

When she turned 18 I took her to Thailand 🇹🇭. 

 

So we have always had a great connection🥰 she knows she can call 📞 me 24/7. 

 

When she’s home she works as a professional shop butcher. 

She has journeyman’s certificates as a shop butcher. 

So she went to school to be a professional. 

She wanted to do something practical and something a bit different than everyone else. ( she has heavy dyslexia, so she was very clear that university was not an option as of now) 

She considered to be a professional chef, but decided that the working hours were too bad for days of in weekends. 

And during her first year at school for chefs , everyone at food & service needs to test out several things. So they do a rotation of chef, waiter, baker, butcher etc. 

To make sure they get a test of everything before they choose the specialty they want to continue onward to on year 2 and start their specialty training. 

 

She has attended Norwegian championships twice for butcher. 

She placed 2 and 1🥳 (so she is a lion in disguise 🥸) 

So this girl can really kick off 💪🏻

That is a very interesting career choice. I didn't know there were professional butchers. Love your review as always. So beautiful in Greece and Turkey.

Can we have pictures of the fake bags? Mr husband loved his BOSE leather wallet at approx $5 and I love my Yves Sain Laurent T shirt…I would sometimes wear it to see if anyone noticed the spelling…Good fun. However, we are not shoppers cannot imagine spending as long a time as Charlotte!

I imagine we’ll be spending the same sort of time shopping as Charlotte when we visit Kusadasi with the young ones in April on Infinity 🙈🤣.
 

Enjoying your review @Norwaylady. Sounds like the MDR isn’t as good as Blu was in March. Hoping it improves for you both and we get a better service next year 🤞🏻.

After our lunch break… you know it’s nap 😴 time on a sun lounger😎

We went to deck 11 and sat there until it was time to go downstairs to prepare for the evening. 

We meet our housekeeper. 

Charlotte has a minor shoe issue…

So we asked if he could help us out… 

The shoe are in his custody🤞🏻

 

Fingers crossed it will be okay💙

 

Tonight’s show is magic ✨ The magic hotel by Alex Bellotto. 

I have seen it before but hopefully Charlotte will enjoy it😇

 

The magic hotel was as the last 2 times. 

It was good… but it was 2 errors/poor timing compared to earlier. (I think Mr Bellutto needs some holiday) So for Charlotte and other guests it was spotless. But for those seeing it before, you would notice the “errors” made….

Nothing crazy wrong but timing/finesse👌🏻

Tonight’s dinner was at our designated table on set time dining on deck 5. 

 

Short version: everyone was delivering excellent service 10/10. 

Set time dining is really SO much better and works excellent for me🫶🏻💙

 

Service for dinner started perfectly, menus, friendly faces and all under control💙🫶🏻

 

Tonight’s menu: 

 

We had Caesar salad, shrimp cocktail, lamb and fish. 

 

 

 

 

All of the food tasted excellent 👌🏻 

We had a visit from Irwin💙 He is very sweet and polite🫶🏻 

 

Dessert menu: 

 

We went for tiramisu and pistachio ice cream

 

 

Then it was off to bed 🛌

Miss Charlotte is selected as random victim for Greek immigration 🛂 … ( well, it runs in the family😂😂😂) 

I will follow her downstairs, since she speaks English but she is far from my level in English when it comes to writing and speaking.

Oh no, she sounds like me I always seem to get the extra checks on my camera bag at the airport. Last time they literally wanted to pat me down as well, by this point they emptied my camera bag all over the table (thousands of $ worth of equipment just sitting out in the open) and asked if I wanted to go to a room to be searched. I wasn't leaving all my stuff so told them just to check me there in front of everyone.

We went for the passport immigration process….

The lucky 🍀 number of 10 guests arrived. 

We were on time and they were picking up the Greek official. 

 

A little after 07.30 the document officer and the Greek official arrived. 

They started calling name from the list. 

The two first had non Schengen passports and they checked the arrival date into the Schengen area. To make sure they didn’t do overstay. 

Charlotte was number 3. 

The Greek official was just 🤨🤔 Why did you select out to me a Schengen passport??? He replied to the document officer that this was a waste of his time really unnecessary to do…

Does she share a cabin by someone not from Schengen? No… 

Then he smiled to Charlotte, wishing her a great day! 

And off we went….

the porcetta for lunch in the buffet was very nice 👌🏻 

And the spareribs were approved🙃

 

Yesterday she had the lamb 🐑 she said it was good but would prefer a full filet instead of the “pulled lamb” 

 

But she’s studying all meat 🍖 in the buffet😂😂😂

so she’s keeping an eye😉

Since we were cleared before 08.00. 

Our plan for captains club breakfast was not open yet… 

So we went upstairs to deck for to MDR breakfast. 

When we arrived it was still quiet 🤫 

So we received a table by the window.

Charlotte went for French omelette 

 

I made my “bye” salmon, English breakfast muffins and poached eggs 🥚🥰

 

All arrived hot and tasty. 

 

Then it was time to change clothes to Mykonos 🇬🇷

We left the ship a little after 9. We went downstairs and it was nobody there…. 

Like really nobody. 

So we went downstairs to deck 1 and directly into a tender👌🏻

 

We are anchored 2 minutes from the port. 

So it was a short ride today👌🏻💙👌🏻

 

Plans for today was go picture hunting and beach 🏖️ (maybe a gelato🤭) 

 

We started on the outer route to the windmills. Passing the churches, Little Venice etc. 

 

 

It’s a little windy 🌬️ and the current on the beach behind the windmills was pretty bad🌬️🌬️🌬️

So the lifeguard had raised the yellow flag. (Caution note) 

We walked to the beach to have a look, you had a light peeling of sand😜

 

So we decided that it was better to use the beach 🏖️ close to the pier. (It’s more protected in this wind 💨 direction) 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

So then we decided to go back to the “city”.

So Charlotte could do some photos, window shopping and find a gelato 🍧. 

 

We walked criss cross around the city. 

Said hello to a cat or two🤭🐈‍⬛🐈🐈‍⬛

Took some photos and then it was time for a gelato stop🍦

 

 

 

 

After the gelato stop, we continued our window shopping and headed for the beach 🏖️ 

Charlotte jumped into the ocean 🌊 

 

I had to help a colleague out, so I was occupied. 

Digital solutions are great 👍🏻🤓 (beach, ocean breeze and sun ☀️ vs office hours inside🤔🤔😎) 

 

After swimming around for a good hour, Charlotte decided that we were finished ✔️ 

Time to go back onboard for lunch. 

 

 

We walked to the tender and got straight on. 

A little stop in our cabin and then we headed for the buffet. It was 15.00 but all food options were available😊

Charlotte was happy happy 😃 it was British 🇬🇧 food.

The shoe emergency 🚨 

Charlottes sandal 👡 lost the decor on one shoe😱😳🙄😬 She just 😱😱😱🚨🚨🚨🚨

 

I said to her that we will ask housekeeping if they can help us out🫶🏻

So yesterday afternoon we asked Rodel if he could get us some super glue….

 

He ask if he could take the shoe away from the stateroom and check😇

Last night it was standing together by the other🤩🥰 all fixed and holding the decoration🫶🏻👌🏻👍🏻💙⚓️💙
