Anyone know where Icon is going for her maintenance?

Miami Port schedule has her leaving early at 14:00 on Saturday. The destination is still listed as Roatan, but I guess that's not been updated.

I don't think there's a dry dock anywhere in America/Caribbean that can take her, so it's presumably in water maintenance

Freeport?  Believe there is a drydock there, although suspect it is booked well in advance?

 

Isn't RCCL part owner of a dry dock facility in Freeport, too?

I didn't get the impression this is a drydock repair. Just probably a repair they needed to be in port for.

Icon is tooooooo big to fit at the Freeport docks. They are plans to upgrade the drydocks to fit icon class ships

They are - but since the Oasis incident in 2019, I don't think there's a drydock there capable of taking an Oasis/Icon class ship.  I believe that's why they send them to Cadiz in Spain for their overhauls.

Next year will see a new dry dock capable of taking an Icon class ship.

My advice is not to wait to rebook.  RCCL canceled our Alaskan cruise last year on Radiance due to propulsion issues and we received 100% refund and 100% FCC.  By the time we went to rebook three months later the prices had skyrocketed and our FCC only covered an ocean view stateroom where we had balconies on Radiance.  It was a bit disheartening.  Don't delay! 

Also, the FCC covers the cost of the stateroom only. If you choose to use the FCC on a less expensive cabin, the balance remaining is still a FCC and will not cover any extras like taxes, gratuities, etc.

RCI has contracted with the Bahamas for a $600,000,000 improvement in their dry dock for enhancements capable of handling the mega-ships.

 

This contract does not address the current situation but will allow flexibility in the future.

 

RCI is starting to address the reality of having a local garage when unexpected emergency situations occur.

I thought an FCC could cover prepaid gratuities and insurance.

RCG and Carnival Corp. own the majority of the Freeport shipyard jointly.

Not at Terminal A as Allure is in twice next week.
Miami port schedule shows it departing 14:00 tomorrow.

She's underway. Marine traffic shows destination as Freeport.

It would be docked at one of the shipyard wet berths.  They are currently all empty.
