complawyer Posted Monday at 03:27 PM #26 Share Posted Monday at 03:27 PM most likely not going to happen, but how about another level between diamond and ambassador? Ruby @ 550 points, perhaps? The problem is that (1st world problem) whatever i need was offered at platinum. even though we are now diamond, there arent that many perks that i need other than the free nag of laundry. even the free dinner with a bottle of wine is of little use, as im not much of a wine drinker. We take the entire bottle, wrap it up, take it home and give it away. Finally, if they allowed you to upgrade from a club balcony to an actual suite, i would certainly use that. However, that is not the case. So, dear friends, as the saying goes "be careful what you wish for...".!
dexddd Posted Monday at 05:00 PM #27 Share Posted Monday at 05:00 PM Currently, NCL is more of a lifetime program since there is no sail within x time. MSC does make you sail every three years, to keep for lifetime, except exemptions granted during the shutdown.

So, they can, if they want, be more creative with their perks. Of course they can.

What was mentioned are top tier CASINO perks which you have to re-earn each year. 100,000 points which is $500,000 coin in if playing only slots. I got it by losing at least $60k and I have to continually play (aka lose money) if I don’t want them to pull the benefits.

My thoughts exactly. Now that we've achieved the lofty perch of Platinum, I see no need to go any higher. Unless, of course, they give you chocolate-covered strawberries that are bigger than the grape-sized ones they now dispense. Right @cruiseny4life?
RedwingHockeyFan Posted Tuesday at 03:05 PM #34 Share Posted Tuesday at 03:05 PM The only thing for me that is worth getting to Sapphire from Platinum is 5% of excursions. And then the only thing worth getting to Diamond would be the cabin upgrade, if that would even be available. It doesn't specify, but I assume it is a cabin upgrade within the category. You already get that upgrade if you book a cruise when you are currently on a cruise.
RocketMan275 Posted Tuesday at 05:06 PM #35 Share Posted Tuesday at 05:06 PM I can hardly believe anyone thinks any of these 'perks' are worthwhile.
mistertomatoe Posted Tuesday at 05:11 PM #36 Share Posted Tuesday at 05:11 PM For what it’s worth, the More at Sea (internal) FAQ says this: 26. With the addition of More At Sea, will the Latitudes® Rewards offerings/benefits be revamped? The Free at Sea offerings will be replaced with More At Sea but the structure of the Latitudes program will remain unchanged.

Travelling2Some Posted Tuesday at 05:49 PM #39 Share Posted Tuesday at 05:49 PM We usually go on longer cruises or cruises combined with a land trip. The laundry perk enables us to travel carry-on only so it is very valuable to us. The two specialty meals and bottle of wine are nice too. Those are the only perks we value so once we hit Platinum we did not care anymore about reaching higher latitudes levels.

You already get that upgrade if you book a cruise when you are currently on a cruise. The Diamond upgrade is a one time (per person) upgrade without choice of cabin. For example, book an Oceanview, upgrade to the lowest category of Balcony available. Book a Balcony, upgrade to the lowest category of Club Balcony. You can't upgrade from a Club Balcony. They did let us upgrade an 11 day cruise which was nice. Don't bother booking an OceanView top category OA. They will only put you in the lowest type BF type cabin.....unless those are all gone. Then you might get a BC or BB cabin.

Seems like the best way to maximize your return would be to book an Inside cabin on a ship that doesn't offer Oceanview and then you get bumped straight to a balcony.

I mean, laundry is $39 or free. A couple $50 meals, or free. It's not really anything that would change my choice of a cruise, but it ain't chicken feed either.
