david_sobe Posted July 22, 2018 #26 Share Posted July 22, 2018 I only have one horror story to state. All other cruises were near perfect. One night after dinner, I headed back to my cabin to get some additional money for the casino. When I got off the elevator there was a man with a hockey mask at the end of the hall. I thought it was a joke until he started to chase me up and down decks 6 and 7. I was able to hide in a stairwell until a vampire bat flew down on my shoulder and tried to bite my neck. Fleeing the bat, I was able to get to the pool deck only to be met by a werewolf with huge fangs. This was just too much for me to handle and when I got to my cabin, I locked and barricaded the door. I swear I heard scratching and thumping almost like from a Frankenstein movie coming from the hall. There were so many flies around the balcony door and the walls started to bleed. I could hear a deep voice say over and over GET OUT, GET OUT. This trip is something I will never forget. But so far its been my only horror experience at sea. And to think some people complain about the food.
Rare BirdTravels Posted July 22, 2018 #28 Share Posted July 22, 2018  forty one cruises on 8 different lines and this was the worst ship and staff ever Did ya’ll just wake up from a long hibernation or drive a delirium into the future? The ship has not existed in over a decade. The same age as this thread.
Notnewtoit Posted July 22, 2018 #29 Share Posted July 22, 2018 The whole concept of "Norwegian Wind" is disturbing in itself! All those pickled herrings I guess...
GA Dave Posted July 22, 2018 #30 Share Posted July 22, 2018 I just keep thinking about Aunt Edna from the Christmas Vacation movie: “Oh, dear, did I break wind?” :')

Rare Von & John Posted October 20, 2018 #33 Share Posted October 20, 2018 (edited) On 7/21/2018 at 10:55 PM, Von & John said: I saw this thread & had to take a look... We sailed the Wind 02/06/08, our delayed Honeymoon & Johnny's first cruise... Loved the itinerary, the ship & the team!!! Saw a number of the bartenders again on future ships. Loved Fanning Island / The Republic of Kiribati. After the cruise we were fortunate to spend a month on Molokai - truly a fantastic Honeymoon - only delayed by 61/2 months. At the time we were not aware of Cruise Critic. Our intro would come a number of cruises & years later. Enjoyable to look back & see comments on the ship which convinced John he actually did enjoy cruising 🆒 As Paul Harvey used to say... And now, here's the rest of the story... Johnny & I just returned from our NCL Transpacific Cruise: Vancouver to Tokyo - towards the end of the cruise we head to Maltings for the first time... Johnny heads to the facilities & I head to the bar... The bartender says - wow it's been awhile, I start to laugh & say this is our first time @ Maltings... He says I know I've met you before - maybe on another cruise - we start to review recent cruises to no avail... John appears & the bartender says - seeing the 2 of you together I know we've met - I usually work the pool bars... Hmmmm. Fast forward a few minutes & we are talking to another couple at the bar - we get into the topic of first cruises & first cruises with NCL. Our first cruise w/ NCL was on the Norwegian Wind during their final season in Hawaii -- Bartender comes running over - "That's It"... I was the Pool Bartender on that cruise - Before I was Married - I was a little skinnier & had more hair... Now you know the rest of the story 🙃 Wow - just realize I had the incorrect date for our cruise on the Norwegian Wind - we cruised 02/06/06...
