superstein61 Posted September 17, 2004 #77 Share Posted September 17, 2004 That sounds about as appetizing as a bowl of mixed and chopped Burdock, Chicory, Dandelion, Goosegrass, Honeysuckle, Johnson Grass, and Prickley Lettuce! Yum yum! With weedkiller dressing no less :)
Brandis Posted September 17, 2004 #78 Share Posted September 17, 2004 What flavour is the bread pudding in the Lido? I love White Chocolate Bread Pudding but hate any dessert which contains pieces of fruit... Also, is the bow accessible on the Prinsendam?

Grumpy1 Posted September 18, 2004 #80 Share Posted September 18, 2004 I am surprised you guys are such experts on the Sky deck at night. You are probably checking it out while I am in dreamland. Early to bed and early to rise make one healty and wise--if not wealthy.Himself The phrase is: Early to bed, early to rise, your girl goes out with other guys! tomc Posted September 18, 2004 #81 Share Posted September 18, 2004 Himself -- I am surprised you guys are such experts on the Sky deck at night. I write comedy on the side and people who think I'd be out there doing any of this find it quite funny. My original fantasy, when in high school, was to hijack a school bus full of teenage girls but now I'd settle for a Senior Citizens van full of women who still have their hearing, most of their teeth and aren't headed for a Bingo hall. Well, Tom, you've ruled out 2/3 of the female passengers on the Rotterdam ... for, as you well know, most of those (few) who DO still have their hearing and most of their teeth are headed for Bingo in the Show Lounge. :D Perhaps you'd have more luck on the Zuiderdam!? Lisa63 Posted September 19, 2004 #86 Share Posted September 19, 2004 There is wonderful artwork throughout the ships -- and if you want to know more about them, go to the Front Office for a pamphlet with a detailed walking tour. :)
cruisy Posted September 19, 2004 #87 Share Posted September 19, 2004 "DAM SHIPS" tee shirts only sold at the bar, cheap, and GONE by the time you see the crew wearing them and decide you want one too.
daju22 Posted September 19, 2004 #88 Share Posted September 19, 2004 Can't wait to get a Dam Ships t-shirt at the bar. Which bar?????? A chocolate croissant at breakfast. A great pizza. A detailed walking tour of the artwork!!! I love HAL already! Someone should list them all in one post, but it would take a long time. Please tell me lots more.:)
cruisy Posted September 20, 2004 #89 Share Posted September 20, 2004 The "dam ship" tee shirts, ball caps, aprons, etc. were at the pool bar, on display on a table. Also one of the inside bars had them. Since we don't drink much, we didn't notice them until we saw the crew wearing them on Half Moon Cay, two days before the end of our cruise. By then they were gone.
bepsf Posted September 21, 2004 #90 Share Posted September 21, 2004 Dutch Pea Soup served on deck in Glacier Bay! Real patio furniture on the verandahs! (not the cheapo plastic crap) ...and something brand new!!! "Flaming Spanish Coffee" in the Explorer's Lounge after dinner!
Jana Posted September 21, 2004 #91 Share Posted September 21, 2004 They were selling the Dam Ships tees at the shop (outside the shop) on Volendam. I was going somewhere and didn't want to get one then, but they were all gone when I went back. Hopefully they'll have them on Westerdam in November. cruisy Posted September 23, 2004 #94 Share Posted September 23, 2004 Yes, the ice cream in the lido with about a half dozen bottles of various flavored liquors (totally unsupervised), that you can pour on at your leisure. It's a free buzz. Of course it's a free buzz for the underaged too, because as I said they are just sitting there...

estj Posted September 23, 2004 #96 Share Posted September 23, 2004 make certain you fill out your immigration form on line and have your credit card form completed before you board. The on-line immigration process dumps your data directly into the ship's data system and makes boarding a breeze! (they don't have to stand there and enter all of the data that is on the hard copy form). All you'll have to do is smile for the camera to log in your photo for security. Quick and easy!;) Cass
DAllenTCY Posted September 24, 2004 #97 Share Posted September 24, 2004 Having sailed 17 times on 5 cruise lines in the last 7 years, I was startled to find that the HAL bartenders on the Ryndam knew me by name on the 3rd day of a 7 day sailing. I'm not a heavy drinker by any means, but just casual conversation once a day with the staff seemed to make a difference. Either that or they have my photo posted on the wall somewhere. Needless to say, it was a very nice "welcome" when ordering a drink. Also, if I didn't have my card with me, it was no problem. Any other line would have made a big deal of it, but on HAL, my name and cabin was good enough. Too bad I didn't win more in the casino! dukie91 Posted September 24, 2004 #99 Share Posted September 24, 2004 Is the credit card form with your documents? I just did our Immigration forms on line so that is done. Thanks for you help! Jodi
RevNeal Posted September 24, 2004 #100 Share Posted September 24, 2004 Is the credit card form with your documents? Yes. If you don't want to provide for your onboard account through a credit card you can let them know at check in that you'll make arrangements at the Front Desk aboard ship (like we used to).
