You got a great resort at a great price. Congrats! We are staying 2 nights pre cruise, then decided to stay an extra night post cruise but wanted to try for La Concha, which is a 4 * hotel so decided to bid $140 in the hopes of winning it. No such luck, I got upgraded to the Stellaris again. Guess it could have been worse, as I could have gotten a hotel I really didn't want or the Caribe Hilton or Intercontinental. At least we got the 2 nights prior for $110. so all worked out well in the end.

Just booked 2 nights (one pre one post) for Feb Cruise.....Resort Paid 120....What a deal for a beautiful hotel!! Thanks for all of your tips and help!

Just got the Marriott San Juan Stellaris for 10/10/10 for $111 on first try. I was a little disappointed I didn't get to haggle a little. Oh Well next time I'll start lower.:p

That is a good price for that property. I have only seen it go for $110 so you did ok.

Sheraton Old San Juan-Hotwire Bid

Dec. 10-Dec. 13

$109. plus taxes

Wanted this hotel so did not chance Priceline. May have paid too much, don't know but it seems good. Will try bidding our post cruise hotel on Priceline.

haven't done hotwire, just curious what you clicked on or submitted to get this.

cruisin4ever...On Hotwire, you key in your city and dates. A hotel star levels is displayed, along with the amenities for those hotels..but no hotel name. Each has a corresponding price. One has to match the hotel amenities displayed with the lists of hotels/amenities that are on better bidding sites on the web. Priceline and Hotwire often use the same hotels, but they often rate them differently, ie a 4 star on Priceline could be a 3 1/2 star on Hotwire. If you combine the better bidding web site data with the Hotwire hotel descriptions, you can often identify the hotel. We do this when we want a specific hotel OR if we do not like Priceline for a particular city (in some cities Priceline offers old, dumpy, dirty, Holiday Inns as three star so we tend not to use Priceline in those areas).

I have found in Hotwire - the hotel description does not always match up to the hotel either.

Sometimes the number of rooms in the hotel do not match the website of the hotel.

It is very confusing.

I have only been trying to get a Resort on Priceline - and it isn't easy!

You would need to cross check the hotels on the better bidding or bidding for travel type websites against a website like trip advisor. St. Petes is one where we got stuck with an old HI that was falling to bits. I think that it has since been renovated.

I am going on CCL Victory on 10/17/10 and am hoping to stay at Sheraton OSJ.

I stayed at Caribe Hilton in February this year and really liked it but would like to be closer to pier.

Does anyone know what selctions I should make on priceline that would improve my odds for the Sheraton (star rating etc.)?

i also got the caribe hilton for august 5th-15th for $95 a day plus taxes (and the 14% they will collect daily at the hotel UGH) i have stayed here many times and I love the hotel but not overly joyed about walking over the bridge to/from the condado area every day for food and casino. Oh well.

Yes i know about the "unreliable" 75 cent bus and will use it when necessary.

*sweet*

I think this is not a Sheraton but the Conrad Condado Plaza and a Hilton and it is a 4* hotel and should be much nicer than Sheraton in OSJ.

got Intercontinenal, our LAST choice for $132.00 for 9/04/10 on Priceline. Not real happy but I knew what I was getting into. Started at $85 and went up $5 until I got to $110 and then $1 until $112 and they came back with add $20 and you'll get a hotel.
