dhesito Posted June 30, 2015 #2626 Share Posted June 30, 2015 Hi cruisintwinsmom This was listed in the email. Amenities: Free Internet, Beachfront hotel, Casino, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access. So basically no breakfast, but it is beachfront. When I was researching the price the cheapest I could get through other websites was around $880. The amenities they list can make a huge difference in identifying which hotel is won. I've been watching for my trip and think I missed out on a good deal for the Courtyard. Maybe it will come up again.
NCTribeFan Posted July 8, 2015 #2628 Share Posted July 8, 2015 Right now, I'm looking at two choices in the Condado area for 1 night 12/9/15. Hotwire - 4*, biz center, near beach, self-serve laundry, fitness center, pool(s), free internet, restaurants, accessible for hearing impaired (95% recommended) - $120 Priceline Express Deal - 4*, free internet, swimming pool, fitness center, restuarant, casino, biz center (guest rating 7+; save 42% or more) - $116 The Hotwire description is slightly different from when I used it last year and got LaConcha. All the Better Bidding descriptions for LaConcha Hotwire include "resort" which this one does not. But I don't see any of the 4* that match what I listed above. None of their Priceline descriptions match, either. I'm concerned that the Priceline might be Sheraton Convention Center. While this is probably just fine (I'm looking for something for one night POST-cruise after an 11-night/8-port (exhausting) sailing), it wouldn't be my first choice. And it concerned me that the rating is only 7+. Seems low for 4*. Any thoughts?

It seems to me that it is not LaConcha if it doesn't say resort. I've been looking for a hotel for post cruise on priceline and it seems like most of the hotels that have come up are 7+ with a rare 8+. You may also want to check out bidding for travel. Good luck. lrtjs5 Posted July 10, 2015 #2630 Share Posted July 10, 2015 Last year I got burned by Priceline in San Juan. I argued and argued with them. The hotel had horrible reviews and even their customer service agent agreed with me but I could not get it changed. I stayed there and it was not great. Not horrible but the room was very noisy near the kitchen!! It was the Radison Ambassador would not stay there again or deal with Priceline. We will be on your cruise and I am going to try and get a flight out return day....

It was "100% approve" with the rating and the amenities were: Free parking, free internet, smoke-free rooms, fitness center, pool(s), golf nearby, internet access. I would check out trip advisor to see what people are saying about the hotel. Also, look to see if there is another Marriott that might be confusing the issue. NCTribeFan Posted April 29, 2017 #2642 Share Posted April 29, 2017 Disappointed that this thread isn't seeing much activity. I've only ever used Priceline/Hotwire for SJ hotels and relied heavily on the info here. Don't sail until November but was wanting to get some idea of what folks have gotten recently. :(

I've only ever used Priceline/Hotwire for SJ hotels and relied heavily on the info here. Don't sail until November but was wanting to get some idea of what folks have gotten recently. :( Even though I still check, I've honestly had far better luck booking with LMT Club or taking advantage of the price match policies of Marriott (25% off lowest rate) & Starwood (20% off lowest rate). Takes a bit of research but it can really pay off.

Vidimom Posted June 24, 2018 #2650 Share Posted June 24, 2018 Booked the Sheraton Old San Juan through Hotwire for October 5-7th with a price of $126.00 per night. Listed as 4 star with the following amenities: Golf near by, pool, spa services, restaurants, free internet, children activities, fitness center, pet friendly. We paid a total of $353.00 including all taxes and fees which include the mandatory hotel fees (resort fees) of $42.59 This price was still much cheaper than the price on their site of $205.00 per night and we are right across the street from the pier Carnival docks so we can just walk to the port!
