****Live From the Golden Princess****

T&J

Recommended Posts

It is always so sad to have one of Tony's sagas come to an end, but look on the bright side, we are all going to Tahiti for Christmas and New Years! I'll be hibernating in Vermont and imagining that I am on the Tahitian Princess while playing a little island music in the background and cranking my heat up to 80 degrees! Stay well everyone! Happy Thanksgiving to my fellow Americans.

Stacey sorry for only getting back to you now regarding the three featured artists that are onboard this cruise and being exhibited as well;

John Mack, Bill Kelly and Pino are the three artist. Pino is a very nice man and I have met a couple of times at the tables in the "Office"...he likes Blackjack I think more than painting!;)

Today is the last Champagne Art Auction onboard.

Tony

Thanks Tony. It wasn't that urgent. I was just curious who they were. I like Pino's work, but don't have any. Mack's work is rally interesting also. I'm not familiar with Kelly. Oh is he the one that does the ships? I don't think I've heard of Aldo Luongo. He must be new to Princess. Guess I'll have to watch for some of his works when we're onboard in January.

You just said what a lot of us are thinking. The only difference is some of us will hibernate from the cold north up here in Canada and elsewhere. Happy Thanksgiving to you and all the other Americans.

John Kelly is the Ship(Maritime) painter, correct:) We like his work, but don't have any yet. We got one Bill Mack, Lovely & Two Pinos, they are Extra Special, we really love his work. Would have loved to meet him & tell him so in person;) My Best! Bill (8 Days to the Golden/Rome):D

Glad we have the correct name--September we were on the Tahitian Princess--John wanted to buy the one with the ship, fog and Bora Bora in the background--John loved it--I wasn't so excited about it--when he asked me where would we hang it--without thinking I replied (in your office)

Long story short--everyone who heard that joked about it througout the cruise--he did buy a Kelly--one of Venice--which is in his office

After we returned home from the cruise we received an email from a couple we had met on the ship--guess what--opened the email--there was a copy of the painting John wanted--I know we will end up with it someday--Oh well

Love the art auctions--some better than others--depends greatly on who has the JOB for the cruise

This has been a great thread--looking forward for the next--

Safe travels

Nancy:D

Hey Tony,

I also want to add my thanks to the incredible postings you have been doing. You've really helped with some boring days at the desk with your wonderful commentary. Of course the fact that my husband and I are doing this very same cruise next year, in fact one year from today:D , gives all your postings an added exciting edge.

Just one quick questions...is Vicki going to be posting her independent tour?

Have a safe journey home.

Yes vicki will be posting hers on here much later today when she gets back home in Rome...So Carolyn et al leave this thread alone please for the next couple of days as there will plenty of exchnages, comparisons and discussions regarding the Overnight Tours.

Tony,

You are quite a smart cookie;) , since the clothes you will need for the next 20 plus days will not be the ones you will need in the South Pacific. LOL

Also, thanks for the great entertainment! Your info, culinery reports, weather updates, port reviews and so much more have been a delight to read. Will be counting the days til you are on the Tahitian Princess.

Safe Travels,

Leslie

Thanks Leslie...this Live from was the best one I have ever done but very difficult to keep current....25 days until the Tahitian Princess.

Thanks Tony for letting us all take these cruises with you, it has been great. I wish you a safe and expidious trip home.

Hope the office was good to you today. Barb

Actually to be honest I ended up with a loss overall after playing last night on Nov 21st and they closed the Casino early at 12 midnight so I couldnt chase it...Oh well, I won last cruise and this cruise did not....waiting for the Tahitian now!

Don't bet on that. Tony packs very lightly, since his laundry on board is free. Mine is too, so why can't I learn to pack the way he does?

Arlene

Cause I dont do the packing from home its Javier who does it all the timer it is amazing what he can fit into a suitcase!

Really, Ick!  We get on that Ship in 8 Days, please Keep Me/us Posted on any new Noro info? Be Careful yourself, & Leave that Syrup in the Horizon, alone.;) Stay out of that area, altogether! The #1 Bad spot on the Ship is Noro is around! Don't shake hands either, I'll bet you do that a lot, correct? (I'm also a big shaker;) )

Take Care, for All of Us!

Bill

Actually I have learned over the years on a ship and especially since the big break out this summer on the Pacific Princess I no longer shake hands or very rarely....the outbreak was contained and no worries for your cruise.

Thanks for all your effort fior those of us not on a cruise at this time--have had to cancel a couple for the first of the year due to a surgery--every once in awhile we need to do the necessary things--Oh well

BTW --by any chance was the artist Kelly--John--the maritime painter??

Look forward to your next trip--we were to be on the Golden starting in New Orleans and on South

Safe Travels

Nancy:D

I really dont know if that was him or not...didnt pay attention to the Art Program on this cruise.

I'm guessing that the Golden's computers access is in the dark now and that we won't hear from Tony again until he is off the ship.

Satelite was up and down last night so I couldnt post....ugghh I am currently in FCO Airport Lounge waiting for my flight to Zurich.
