3dog Posted September 17, 2014 #1432 Share Posted September 17, 2014 The Oasis and Allure are indeed giant, but don't seem crowded. DH and I were on the Allure for our honeymoon in 2011, and it was a good trip. Friendly crew and no lack of things to do. It was actually pretty nice to pre-book shows. Indeed! Don't pre-judge based on some unexperienced belief. However, she is big. A good photo set of her and the previous "largest cruise ship in the world" can be seen in the RCI CEO's blog at http://www.royalcaribbean.com/connect/blog/two-of-our-ships-pose-for-a-rare-photo-opportunity-in-cozumel/

3dog Posted September 17, 2014 #1434 Share Posted September 17, 2014 1) One of the ships is facing the wrong way. I've seen ships facing either way in this port. 2) When did Goldstein get promoted to CEO? 2007: http://www.royalcaribbean.com/ourCompany/ourLeadership.do?name=Adam+M.+Goldstein. A few months ago he also (AFAICT) became President/COO of RCCL: http://www.royalcaribbean.com/connect/blog/my-new-responsibilities/ Not sure if the latter means he is no longer CEO of RCI, but the first link suggests he still has this responsibility. IMG_0936 by darron.tabor, on Flickr 1) That is why I take my laptop with me. 2) That said, it looks fine to me. What do you think is wrong with it? dltvermont Posted September 19, 2014 #1441 Share Posted September 19, 2014 C2, in this size its not bad but if you look at it closely, its not real clear (the ship that is). I think it would look fine on a regular sized printed photo. Wouldnt want to enlarge it though. Im probably being alot more critical of myself that I need to. This was my first time on vacation with a DSLR so I still have alot to learn.

This was my first time on vacation with a DSLR so I still have alot to learn. I was having the same issue the first time I took my DSLR on vacation. I'm still trying to get used to it and have my point and shoot as a backup but it's older and only a 6 megapixel. Even using the DSLR in the "auto" setting, the landscape pictures seemed grainy/out of focus and I was bummed. I wasn't going take the DSLR on our cruise in May 2013 and my brother, who has the same camera, told me for clear, crisp, everything in sharp focus landscape pictures to put the camera on the "P" setting. I took the camera and used the "P" setting for all the landscape pictures and they came out the way I wanted. I was also wondering what you thought was wrong with your picture because I love it.
